terrain.party problem
I just discovered this site and desperately want to import my home area to the game, but everytime I try to export it the file only contains readme.txt that says No height map data was available. That's a bummer. So is there any solution to this?

In the past I have successfully downloaded a height map for my home area. If I now put the URL from that successful readme.txt file back into a browser it now gives me the 'no height map' message you see.

Conclusion, for what ever reason, the terrain.party site is not working how it used to.

For info, the URL I used is: http://terrain.party/api/export?name=Peterborough2&box=-0.015420,52.741758,-0.549595,52.418367

Tested terrain.party only a couple of hours ago, still working for me, maybe terrain.party is not available in your countries?

Mm, I'm in the UK. As I say, it has worked previously.

I am from the Philippines, I have downloading several heightmaps of our local cities from terrain.party for months now - and my most recent one was 4 hours ago I think.

It still has the heightmaps and the readme.txt file inside of it.

I just tried Manila, but got the 'no height map' message. URL used was: http://terrain.party/api/export?name=MUK&box=121.092190,14.676121,120.925040,14.514424

This is normal. From time to time, Terrain Party loses it's connection to the USGS data and it will return to normal service within a few days time. Just check on it daily.

I agree, this has happened multiple times in the past, so just wait and check it very often like in previous times.

I live in Finland, maby it has something to do with where you live and it just happens not to work in Finland right now.

Is there a more reliable free source for Heightmap data? Been trying Terrain.party site last couple days but not working in the U.S either.

I'm having issues with it as well. I've been trying for at least 4 days on getting height maps for parts of the US but just got a text file :( I also tried other areas outside the US and such just in case it was just a single error, and it keeps occurring.

Still not working, everyday I try but it just sadly doesn't want to work.

Good luck, I've been trying for over a year without success.

I guess it must be abandoned

Uh no, it is not. This is normal, terrain.party already went down like a couple of days or weeks in the past (try searching for threads on Reddit, and see multiple ones from 2016 or 2017).

Just wait for a couple of days, it'll return to normal, and I am also used to this issue that is why I have downloaded my needed heightmaps just before it went down days ago.

Then your area is the problem, here in the Philippines, terrain.party went down like a couple of times but returned to normal afterwards, I have successfully downloaded heightmaps of Philippine cities on either July 11 or July 12 (or two weeks from now).
