Frame rate! How do I get the game to run smoother
I’ve got a rtx 3060ti and 2950x threadripper cpu, 32gb of ram and plenty of storage however the game will still lag, even if settings are set low

What I've found to be of great help in this, is to lower the game speed. The game offers three settings for speed. But using mods you can slow it even more down.

This nbot only gives your system more time to calculate all the necessary info, but it also looks more realistic, as the vehicles and cims travel faster than they would irl.

I myself have set the game speed to 50-60% of the slowest game speed. It makes the game run a lot more smooth.

Use one of the following mods to slow the game speed:

If you use the 'Ultimate Level of Detail' mod, make sure you do not increase a lot of the settings. The more elements (buildings, trees, roads, props, vehicles, etc.) are visible on your screen, the more your graphics card needs to process. Lowering the LOD's of all these elements also does wonders, especially when zoomed out.

Also, try exiting any program running in the background while running CS. I mean launchers for other games, like WOW, WoWs, and STO. These launchers do take up CPU, RAM, and a little bit of GPU while running in the background.

Man... this game released for 7 years... I don't think the performance affected by hardware but paradox should optimize the game engine or develop C:S 2 but not more and more DLC to make the game become slower and slower...

You can't. It's the Engine itself wich makes it slow. It's limited...

FPS Booster does magic. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2105755179 FPS on my laptop were around 22-23, with this mod the same city has 50+ FPS.
