Try to keep your residential zoning clear of the worst of these as excessive noise will cause sickness due to noise pollution. You can reduce traffic noise somewhat within residential zones by upgrading your roads to tree lined roads. Otherwise, simply be aware of structures that create noise and don't place them in residential areas.
So, for example, Commercial zone is a noise polluter. Don't zone commercial adjacent to residential. Try to create some distance or even use a buffer zone of offices between them. Offices create no noise and nor do they require noisy delivery vehicles.
Speaking of which, as part of your road management, always try to ensure that deliveries from either the outside or from your own industry are not routed through any residential zones.
Hope that helps ;)
There are plenty of good guides for traffic management and road planning in the workshop.
Even though they cost more, I usually start my city out right away with the larger roads that are three lanes each direction....trust me, you'll be trying to upgrade to them later so city service vehicles can get where they need to on time, and if you don't already have em in, you'll have to bulldoze out a lot of your city to get them in there. Best to just do it up front. Just a suggestion.
:^)
Hope this helped.
That's the answer I was searching for when I found this discussion. I actually sat there and watched my 14 office buildings for over an hour, waiting to find out which industry delivered to them and finally decided to check Workshop to see if anyone knew.
I should've known you'd have the answer.
:^)
Thanks again.
