Can't create passenger train lines
Hey, I'm having an issue where I can create a train line for passenger trains, but cannot get any stops added to the line, thus being unable to complete it. Anyone have a fix for this?

In case it helps, here are my mods:
Automatic Bulldoze v2
Mod Achievement Enabler
Auto Line Color
Extended Public Transport UI (Obsolete)

Perhaps the last mod is the issue? Not sure. Just wondering if anyone knows. Thanks.

Silly thing, but as it's something I've done myself, have you placed a cargo station instead of a passanger station ? You also need 2 passenger stations as you are creating internal routes. You don't need to make stops for the stations connected to the outside connections.

It's not a silly thing, a lot of people miss stuff like that. But Yeah, I do have two passenger stations. Been trying to make a line between the two.

check that you don't have breaks in your rail tracks (like on sharp turns)

do the stations you are trying to connect have more than one platform?

A route between two stations requires three stop points. The third is to connect back to beginning point or stop. Or are you saying that the stations will not accept a stop marker. If that is the case then you may have a break in the line or mistakenly placed a one way rail so the route cannot be completed.

That’s a common one. they look connected but when you look closely they are not. I have had sharp rail intersections that looked connected but at closer inspection the intersecting rail was not connected.
My issue is often found to be this.

When zoomed out you may not even notice the break unless you know it happens or know what to look for.

Sharp turns prevent the rail from going? I bet that's the issue.

As to the stop points, I can't even put a point beyond the first (creating the line), so completing it with the third point isn't even possible at the moment. I'll try smoothing out any crazy turns.

To be honest, it's not even sharp turns as I've had it happen on gentle angle intersections. I think it only really happened when I was zoomed out a fair bit when trying to join track. When zoomed in the junctions usually connect OK.

Yes, sometimes the game unfortunately allows track turns/connections which don't contain connected rails because the turn radius is too small. Thankfully it's visible when zooming in.

It's impossible for me too. I've tried everything. If anyone has a good youtube video for beginners, such as myself. Please post it here. have successfully set up Busroutes and Cable-Car routes in my small town, but to no avail any normal trains long-distance allowed between my industry and residential work / living districts :-(

Take a really close look at any branch lines coming off the tracks you are using to see if any of the are disconnected as seen in the screenshot above. Also. make sure that all the tracks are connected at the nodes. Just one set of unconnected nodes can keep you from completing a line. If you have missing rails, the Move It mod will allow you to move the tracks until they show up.

Hi WhiteKnight, after reading your message, I noticed at least 2 track intersections where the metal rail disappear into the ground, and do not connect. This is probably the solid answer. Now, if I am correct the Move It MOD will do it for me but then achievements are closed, something I love about my city accomplishments, so I'll vote to remove the tracks and stations from city, and re-add them a bit later once I have a huge plateu and I'll add the Move it MOD also, with over 2 million Skylines money in the bank, I am OK financially to do this. Thanks a lot for your answer, you made my evening more pleasant.

There is a mod called Achieve It so you can use mods, including the mods included with the game, so you can keep earning achievements while playing with mods.

I use it as I use certain mods including Unlimited Ore and Oil so my industries do not run out.

Extended Public Transport UI may or may not be an issue but certainly you don't need it anymore - its function is in base game by now. It may create conflicts in game and the issue you have may be just one of those conflicts.
In your place I'd switch to IPT2 for more functionality - but before downloading it, try removing Extended Public Transport UI first, and try placing your transport lines and see how it goes.

And as mentioned before, some of of your railway tracks may not be connected at the intersections - the look strangly overlayed and unconnected when you zoom in - and that's why you can't create any route at all.
