Public Transport not picking up Passengers

Having returned to the game recently, I've been having an issue where some of the vehicles I use won't pick up passengers. They'll stop, start boarding but nobody will get on then they'll leave again. I've had this issue a few times before and the reason I stopped playing was mainly down to that. I thought I fixed it the last time using a variety of mod compatibility checkers and reports form other users but I've tried the same this time to no avail so I wondered if anyone here has any other ideas. For reference these are the mods currently installed.

Although I don't believe it makes a difference, all my transport vehicles are assets from the workshop.

You probably won't get around disabling mods until you find the issue. I would start by disabling these, then test (wait for a bit so the AI recalculates things) and see how things work. Perhaps even make a new transport route or delete and redo one.

Metro Overhaul Mod might also play a role, but depending on how much you've used the mod in your city, you might not be able to load the city if you disable it.

Although not an identical problem I had something which does sound familiar.

The solution for me was suggested by Avanya (above) and cured my saddening problem of transports carrying much reduced passengers, or none at all. I was over-joyed!

The solution which worked for me was via TM:PE, -clear traffic-, which also clears cims and seems to reset other things which may benefit. Give it a try.

Gave it a go, it seems to work at first but as more and more vehicles spawned in they didn't pick up any passengers again.

Hide problems I have turned off anyway most of the time so I can't see anything wrong with that. I have an awful lot of MOM track so disabling that wouldn't end well, same with TM:PE because I rely on that a lot for MOM. The only one I could really disable without major issues would be IPT.

A lot of testing later and no result, also tried removing anarchy with no solution. I don't have a particularly powerful CPU and someone suggested it could be performance related so I can't do much about that.

I decided to take up this issue again. After uninstalling all of my mods so that only basic assets remained, buses still weren't picking up passengers. When I have the time I'll uninstall assets and go down to a complete vanilla game to try it and see if there's any difference.

Seeings that there's no mods attached would you mind sharing the game file? I wish too examine the issue. Or see if I get the issue.

Which ones do you want? The one with all of the mods in or one with all of the mods out?

I do not use mods unless it is for First Person Camera screenshots for something I am publishing or if I am working in Editor. I do not otherwise use in-game mods because, let's face it, it is a random collection of people monkeying with the game code and conflicts and unintended consequences are inevitable.

9 times out of ten this issue is do to the fact that your vehicles aren't able to go where your citizens want to go. Citizens rarely hop on just to tour the city. Best thing to do is like OJB said. Share a game save.

I remember a case where maxed out path units lead to people not boarding trains.
a path unit is part of a pre planed path a vehicle or ped is about to take, they are usually a couple segment s long. without path units the game cannot plan any new routes... and it needs to when a citizen boards a train as a ped becomes part of a vehicle at that point.

as far as I remember citizen units are groups of 1-5 citizens traveling the same route.
it's the games way on saving on pathfinding work and path unit usage.

I guess that if the game is unable to group citizens into units it cannot plan paths for them.

would need further testing to prove but I'd say yes looks like that you reached the citizen limit is your problem.

... but I am unsure if it is a problem at all, the game is able to teleport citizens if you are way over the limit. if I remember right only the time you are around the limit and cross over it from both sides is really nasty
someone more knowledgeable on that mechanic please comment.

Shared a save game and OJB is on it atm. The actual Public Transportation network is fine as people are queuing up and used public transportation (a lot) before

I'm having the same problem. At first, new buses, trams and metro i added to the line dosen't work. Then i refres traffic, and all the vehicles stop to take on passengers.
