Water supply & water pollution
So I am getting a little irritated with the water pollution and keep on having to move my pumps! I have the floating garbage collector as well as the water treatment plant but still cant keep up!

I was wondering could one skip the water pumps all together and just use the big water towers with the inland treatment plants?

Thanks in advance

Water pollution?? If you actually HAVE water pollution, that means your pumps somewhere suck in dirty water OR you have water towers on polluted land!

Do you have a screenshot of your city to check on??

Sure you could, as long as you don't build the water towers on polluted soil or oil deposits.

Water towers are more expensive per gallon of water they produce but it's a decent alternative. My 110k pop city went entirely on water towers not too long ago due to the fact the water pumps were drying up my River and I didn't like it. If you do use water pumps you just always have to put it at the source of your water, and any sewage out put further down stream.

No amount of scrubbers, treatment etc will make that water clean. Just 1% pollution is enough to make people sick and drop land value around the polluted water. Workshop items can fix it up but the stuff in the game via DLC isn't really up to the task. I believe it was sunset Harbor that had the treatment plants, but they also produce a lot of ground pollution far as I remember.

There are (using Workshop Mods & Assets) ways to turn sewage water into drinking water. You can also find ways to move your intake and discharge systems out off town. And if that does not work for you can simply remove pollution from the equation all together.

You can of course "skip the water pumps all together and just use the big water towers with the inland treatment plants" but if you really want to keep pollution out of your city you're gona have to break a few norms.

Thank you Avanya and I presume these also sort out the sewage?

The ones I linked only do one or the other. So the water ones will supply water while the ones in the sewage collection will treat sewage. The benefit of the sewage ones is they work inland and don't produce any ground or water pollution - just some noice pollution to simulate the smell (since we don't have air pollution in the game).

You need to level up your city and build the water treatment plants. i think the first one comes in around 14,000, the eco one at 26k
