Unable to Find C:S Game Files (Mac OS X)
Hey all, like many other people in the C:S community, I am attempting to recreate my hometown within the game as a fun project to pass the time. I already have an extremely accurate heightmap from the steam workshop but, since I am a bit of a perfectionist, I wanted to import street map photos into the game as an overlay in order to make the street spacing and directions as accurate as possible. In order to import street map screenshots into the game using overlay mods, I have to navigate to this folder:

user/<user name>/library/applications/steam/steamapps/common/Cities_Skylines/files

I can navigate through the folders all the way up to Cities_Skylines just fine, but when I open up the Cities_Skylines folder, it is empty save the desktop shortcut that allows me to run the game. Aside from that shortcut, there is no files folder, meaning I am not able to paste the overlay image into the game.

I've looked around on google and the steam forums to try and find a solution to this issue, or possibly an alternate location for this missing folder, but all the posts that I have found that have a similar problem are from at least four years ago, and they have yet to be solved.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance!

First of all I am not at all familiar with Mac, so maybe you've already tried this or it won't be relevant at all. But in case it could be useful, you should be able to show hidden files/folders by pressing Command+Shift+Dot

The mod also notes this part.

Note for OS X users: The "Files" directory might not exist. If it doesn't, it is safe to create it manually.

So perhaps you won't need to do anything else than just create the "Files" folder and put the images in it.

Confirming you’re using MacOS Catalina v10.15.6 ?

Are you trying to use OverLayer v2?

Avanya is correct.

In that Mod’s Description, it says:

“Note for OS X users: The "Files" directory might not exist. If it doesn't, it is safe to create it manually.”

@avanya @antzkillr creating the "files" folder manually worked perfectly, thank you both so much!
