Power consumption fluctuates
I have the strange situation that i have fluctuating power consumption.

My power production is at the moment stable at 855. But occasionally my city power increases from around 530 to 800 for a short time and goes back to 530

Does anyone know what causes this?

I have all expansions, and use the mods:
- Klyte Fine Road anarchy 2
- TM:PÉ (Stable)
- Network Extensions 2
- Fine Road Tool
- Move it
- Loading screen mod

What is your power source?
Windmills can increase or decrease power while have certain kind of weather.

Its all solar pannels or windmills. But the production isn’t the issue its stable.

The consumption is fluctuating.
But i don’t see buildings that lose power only when those cunsumption spikes happen.

Temperature changes affect power consumption, but fluctuations that large look a bit strange.

What kind of map are you using (winter, tropical, ect)?

This would be my guess as well. If you don't have any heating plants, then electricity will be used to heat houses as temperatures go down.

Its a tropical map. Is that also in maps without snow

Yup, temperatures will change on all maps if you have Snowfall installed. A tropical map shouldn't get cold enough to use electricity to heat up houses, and afaik there's no need to cool houses (no AC for our citizens!), which would explain the increase in consumption you see.

Do you have any factories that might halt production at times (and stop consuming electricity)? Industries DLC areas might do this when they are waiting for resources to be delivered.

I think factories have to be the issue then.
I have a huge area for ore and a medium sized for farming.

Now i think about it. It started shortly after adding some smaller factory areas with warehouses for goods and roads to enter the city for the goods

The warehouse income started to fluctuate a lot since i added those. They always send trucks in groups for an unknown reason. Even when full and i set it on empty.

Thank you i will try turning the warehouses off. And see what happens

I think i found what causes the power spikes.

It wasn’t the industrial areas but the switch from day to night but also the stadiums and festival areas that activated at the same time.

Nothing you can control
