That is one reason why the compatibility mod is included.
Also the game comes with a mod you can turn on to make resources not deplete. No, it isn't worth keeping ore and oil when its depleted. This is basically a must activate for this reason as ore and oil get sucked up waaaaaay too fast.
Yep, the rates are unreal. Plus, it makes using the industries DLC a bit of a chore, specially in hard mode. I didn't knew that one was in there, I will sure try it.
