Cities Skylines is more a "Sim City" around Traffic stuff and sandbox building
While Sim City was an economy&building game.
Sim City 4 = Economy Game
Cities Skylines = Sandbox / Traffic Solving game.
If you love sandbox and fixing traffic issues go with Cities Skyline if you love economy game go with Sim City 4

Czardus also has a nice series that starts all the way at the very first city and covers lots of topics as the city grows:

And then there's these guides, which are a good place to start.

Youtube streams are only as good as the streamer producing them and that said, one can both watch streams and read guides ;)
My guide in particular focuses on a common problem for beginners, namely how to start a profitable city. Many of my subscribers were having difficulty with that and the guide has helped thousands of them over the years.

The Guides section of the Workshop is full of great guides and I highly recommend them to all players. Why explore aspects of the game and try to reinvent the wheel when you can learn from those that have already mastered them? If anyone needs more insight or wishes to quickly climb the learning curve, then the Guides are the best way IMO ;)

but - sry - but for ME when i want to play a game i dont want to "study" first 1000 pages how to or watch some others "play" for hours befoe i play myself.....
its like "i want to play a game" - "ok i learn c++ and programm my own game so i can play"
you understand ?
so now i managed to built my city and make some achievements etc.
but still - for me - without any "goal" (beside achievements) - no story - missions etc.
it gets boring.
so rly thx for your help ! This helped all a lot !
even sim city on snes had a tutorial :D
a five minute tutorial would not be nearly enough. dont let the (occasionally) fisher price visuals fool you, this is a complicated and at times unforgiving game. if youre looking for concise tutorials with visuals, the official cities skylines youtube channel has a bunch of ~5m tutorials that do a proper job of explaining the core mechanics. you can zip through them all and finish in one or two hours - time well spent for a novice.
So if you were new to the genre or just happen to have stumbled upon the game by chance then too bad. Hopefully when Cities Skylines 2 does come out the Devs will include a more thorough tutorial as well as ship pre-built scenarios to play for players who want them. One of my favorite tutorials for a City Building game is the one for Cities XL as they presented tutorials as bite size mini tutorial episodes, like how SIMCity 4 fid them, that also chucked in a very minor story as to why your Mayor friend is teaching you the ropes so to speak.
In a game like this, the goal is whatever YOU want it to be. The game isn't going to make one for you. There is no "finish line".
You have arrived at the wrong company. Paradox games barely have any tutorials. Not even the latest games have any.
Buys game.
Unable to understand.
Moans and blames everybody else.
🤣
:D i dont blame anybody :D :P
and i also thanked many times for the helpers and hints and tips :P
and that i like city building,......... games from early amiga sim city etc. and have a lot of in my library and and and i just wanted to know if i have missed the turoial or campaign or mission etc. and on store page there is no "sandbox" tag :P
and for 1$ humbleoffer sure i bought it when i had it for years on my wishlist :P
@this hero thx i found them quite good ! helped me a lot and saved a lot of time :) - for the start :)
@verullus thx for the tip with the scenarios i also try them !
