trolley bus vs bus

So is there any Advantages to the trolley bus over stabdard buses. needing to start on my public transport but have wondered if there are any specific advantages to them or is it mainly down to preference?

You could assume electricity is quieter, then again you can use the bio bus.

I would just mix it up, in rural areas use normal busses, big cities trolley bus then again US people don't like versus European people do

i dont like trolley busses because they are unable to cross track with trams or roads with monorails, which limits their usefulness. they exist mostly for visual flair.

yes agreed, I like the trolley buses but they are limited, would be good if you could make trolley bus only roads like you can with tram only tracks, now that would be great!

I use trolley to trace a closed loop within a small city. I use buses to connect residences with industries.

trolley buses i feel are just awful unless someone is going for a certain vibe they only have 1/3 the capicity of a tram but are also limited by the road same as a tram so they lose

also they have the same capacity as a bus but once again are limited by road type

and as other guy said cant cross trams or monorail

if i had a choice i would use 6 lane roads and put normal bus stops just off the main roads on a side street over using the 4 lane roads with trolley buses i dispise them :P

i just used them for achievement and then never again

only way i could justify using them maybe is if someone does not have trams or bio fuel buses and only regular buses or there trying to make a old town vibe of city but it would still be a toss up cause there so impractical

Trolley need special roads. That to me limits what they are just a bus. Did SC need another bus with few options with roads? No.

I think they are worthless. I'm sure other will tell you they are the best thing since sliced beard.

With most transport option being worthless in SC I guess you could say use what you find fun. Blimps? Go for it. Ferries? Sure why not. Don't build what others like. Build what you like.

What I would like to know: Can you replace your current "normal" busses with trolley busses, if you change the roads and build the trolley bus depot, could they use the same old lines we had for the normal bus line?

No, you would need to create new lines in the same place.

Yea, already found out myself, sadly. But I hope they will include this option to transform regular bus lines into trolley bus lines!
