Also, you don't state which OS or system you use, but I'll assume Windows 10. Whichever, there is much about blurred fonts across the interweb if this issue is not specific only to this game - https://duckduckgo.com/?q=windows+blurred+font
Thanks for the help. I tried the Font Selector but that doesn't seem to do anything, sadly.
I'm indeed on win 10 x64. I've seen a lot of topics but there are no answers or they don't seem to work.
I was hoping there might be so news about this I might have missed.
Does "an electric car if they own any cars. Cost 2 c /" look as sharp as the line above it to you?
If so, one of us might be going crazy.
I'm playing on 2560x1080, the native resolution of my screen. I tried forcing 1080p on my graphics card but it didn't change anything.
I just looked at this on my desktop monitor (4k) and you are right. The first line of text looks fine, but the lower too look ever so slightly fuzzy. I wouldn't call it gamebreaking, but it is something anyone would notice without having to specifically look for it.
From the screenshot you provided it looks like the rest of the elements on screen are portrayed correctly. Where else and how often is this issue appearing?
This is on all text throughout the game and since there is a lot of reading in Cities Skylines it starts to become really annoying really fast. Your eyes try to refocus constantly, it's pretty unplayable for me personally. It looks like there are horizontal lines of blurryness throughout every block of text.
I'm just recently returning to the game, so idk if there are better UI scaling mods, but the "UI Resolution" mod has worked pretty well for me. Rendering the UI at your native screen resolution can result in it being too small, and it has a UI scaling feature to offset this (note that the widget appears in the main graphics options, not the mod's options). I bumped it up to 10 or 20%, which is a nice balance between crispness and readability.
Note that I still found some text to have some issues, although the overall situation was much much improved. Font Selector actually is helpful here, as you can increase the font size or choose an alternative font that renders better for you.

Thanks for this, but it didn't help me.
I've tried everything again and there's still lines of blurry text throughout the whole game that make it unplayable for me.
I tried the font selector > different fonts, different sizes, different thickness
I tried the UI resolution > bigger, smaller
I tried windowed mode
I tried 1920x1080 resolution
Just nothing seems to work and this game makes me feel like I have something in my eye the entire time. Apparently it's a very rare problem since Paradox is still pumping out DLC but not fixing this issue.
The soft fix is change the resolution and say no to keep change or change the font using font UI mod to change the font size.
This only happen when the game is loading into the city.
For all players who stuck at this blurry UI, I've found a way to fix it. Just set your lauch option by this parameter:"-force-d3d9", that force the game run in DirectX9, and now the blurry has gone!
I downloaded the latest graphics drivers for my pc and downloaded cities skylines again and used the: -force-d3d9 launch option but it still made no difference.
Too bad.
