Game crash, Simulation error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object
Game crash shortly after city loaded.

Possible cause of errors:

Can you upload a log from the attempt without Building Anarchy?

You can also try using the Loading Screen Mod to load in Safe Mode. Here's how that's done:

Did you ever figure out a solution for this? I'm having the same problems, and I just did a re-install with no luck for a solve.

Hi, what I end up doing is I re-load a back up save about a month older than my current one, and that worked. So I just keep playing from there and gives up on the mount of progress.
So in sort, something broke my save, but I am not sure what. My suggestion would be don't use Steam cloud and back up your save regular. I hope this helps.
Ps: this happen fairly soon after I updated to the sunset harbour update and DLC, so I won't rule that out either

Some DLC's, mods, and expansions are not saved game compatibility.
