Every time I have to deactivate every asset in Content manager..?
Hi there. The past few days I keep having the same issue. Every time I start the game all of my assets and styles in content manager are automaticely activated although they weren t before, (and it takes always some minutes to deactivate as they are almost 3000) and sometimes all my mods vanish as well. Is there an explanation for that? Anyone else having the same problem?

There is a simple "Disable All" button in the asset section. Most people want them though. If yu don't want them, just unsubscribe them all (one at a time).

I understand that. I mean that i have to do it every time these past few days. Right now i m trying to unsubscribe from assets I recently took so that i see if these last assets caused this problem. Thnk u for your answer!

Maybe specifically post the problem you are having and we can maybe help a little better.

Any error messages, crashes, lag, etc.?

Do you have loading screen mod subscribed? It can help track down problem assets. You will need to tell it to generate a report in the options of the mod.

It kepps doing that. And the first time i load the game all my mods are unvisible. The second time i can see them but all of them are disabled and all my asstes enabled although before i close the game all of them were diabled. How could u explain this?? And i unsubscribed all the new assets i took right before this started.

I'm having a hard time following you. But it sounds like a sync issue with Steam's workshop. Mods won't show up if it won't sync properly.

Can you start a new city?

I think I found the solution so I write it down for everyone that might face a similar issue in the future. It seems that a mod I had (Isintercity) that was not usefull any more and therefore depreciated (I guess 3-4 days ago, because that's when I started having this problem), caused this mess in my content manager, despite the fact that i could still load and play all my cities without any other problem . Yesterday I unsubscribed it and till now i have no issue. The mod compatibility checker helped me find the problem. A big thanks to the creator of this mod and to @MarkJohnson for being willing to help me out!

Unfortunately it happened again.
Looking at the output log I noticed something that could make some sense to to you??
I copied only a part as it goes on and one. I suppose here is the problem??

It says right in the text that it is harmless. I get these messages without workshop.

I really can t find a sollution to this problem. After many effords I realised that whenever I try to disable my automaticly enabled assets thet the next time I load the game all my mods are unvisible and when I load the game once again my mods are visible again but disabled and my assets enabled again. And it ' s really frustrating as I cannot used 3000 assets in any city so i have disable them all every single time (an of course wait 10 minutes till they 're disabled again and every time I launch CS I have to do the same procedure all over again. I have looked everywhere in the discussions and i haven t found a similar case..

I ve tried logging out, unsubscribing mods that thought may had somehting to do with this, clearing download cache ..nothing changed :-(

Maybe just post your saved city here so we can look at it.

From the main menu, go to content manager, savegames, find your city, click share (make sure it is set to public), then copy and paste link address here.

This problem occurs before I load a city. It involves all of my cities. When I enable or disable the suitable mods or assets every city loads smoothly. The problem has to do, I suppose, with the fact that the game or steam failing to load the mods and assets when I launch the game at the first place. Is there a way I can clear all remaining corrupted files from a previous mod that I ve unsubscribed? Maybe this is the cause. I remember subscribing to a mod that changes the content manager categories and it almost crashed the game, so I unsubscribed immediately.

Have you found a solution yet that works? I have the same problem. I disabled quite a few assets before starting a map and when I open the game the next time, every asset is enabled again, wich is really really annoying

If it's sets of assets you are switching between, you can create Steam collections for the different setups and then use the "Subscribe/Unsubscribe All" button in the collection to switch between them. It does mean downloading the different assets each time though.

Another option which is useful if you have mods disable themselves often is to set everything how you like it, exit the game without loading a save, then starting it again to check that everything is enabled/disabled like you want. Then go to C:\Users\YOURUSER\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines and find the file called userGameState.cgs and make a copy of it to keep somewhere else as backup. Then whenever your mods disable themselves, copy the backup and put it back in the folder.

A tip that helps avoid the reset is to use the mod Instant Return To Desktop. It has the issue happen a little less often as the game doesn't try to overwrite the file (and so can't mess it up so it resets).

Yet another option is to set up another Steam account and enable Family Sharing in Steam, so the other account can play the game. Then you can set up a different set of subscriptions on that account and just switch between the two as needed. It's the best way to deal with very different setups like using completely different assets for two cities or doing a bunch of stuff in the editors.

Lastly you can disable everything and use the Loading Screen Mod's option to load things used in the city, even if they're disabled. Then you just need to enable anything new that you would like to add to the city this time around.

That is quite helpful, thank you :)
