If you do it, then definitely save as a new file when you have swapped to boreal, so if something unexpected happens, you can swap back to the winter version. :)

You will get duplicate prefab errors, but the mods still work. If you don’t mind losing the growables for the old theme but still want the all the other buildings, disable the European/Vanilla style in content manager. However, there are at least three buildings that will still give errors, one is the public library (campus dlc), the others are the elder and child care buildings (sunset harbour dlc). To get rid of that message you can make your own versions of these buildings and then disable the in-game buildings using loading screen mods ‘skip perfabs’ option.
I use this method as I like to switch between Winter and the other seasons in my cities.
