hydro powerplant connection.
greetings all,
i built a hydro powerplant on the river, but how do i connect its electricity to other part of the city ? do i build the power lines ? or road ?

i built powerlines next to the hydro power plant, connecting them to the residential buildings, but it still shows no electricity been connected.
have i done something wrong ?

Make sure the powerlines connect the blue areas around the dam and the residential area with each other.

Then make sure that your dam is actually producing power already.

Then make sure that your dam is producing enough power to meet your demand.

Something I've only recently twigged is that you can tell when a power line is going to pass electricity or not - ie, whether it's connected to the blue area or not. If it's not connected it will have the yellow lightning bolt symbol on any unconnected end of the power line.

i did build the powerlines on the blue area of the dam, and the dam does produce power, unfortunately those buildings around the powerlines still shows no power to them.
