I was short of soil and didn't have ocean access so I nicked it from the bottom of a lake. Then when I ended up with too mmuch I put it back again !!

Just make a mountain out of a mole hill.

Or just enable unlimited soil mod that is built into the game. main menu, content manager, mods, select unlimited soil.

Wich I think Is very fair because it litarlly just saves you time and you still have to pay for it

Unlimited soil is kinda boring.
The "where to put it?", "where to take it from?" is the fun of terraforming!
Just build an island, you never know when you might need it.

That's the greatest thing about this game, play it the way you want.

fyi, I made an island so I could make a lake once. two for one! But it's much faster with the mod.
