Can't Open Policies Tab
I have a bug where I can't open my policies tab, when I try the only thing that pops up is a small "X" in the lower left. I have already tried reloading the save over the past 2 days and it has not restored my policies tab. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Have a read through this thread see if any of their solutions work for you

Thanks, I'll try those. However I suspect I may need to reinstall the game, as my WASD is also disabled.

Sometimes a simple restart of your machine fixes issues like that, i would also run some system checks before going as far as reinstalling

If your using Win 10 following the info here:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/4026529/windows-10-using-system-file-checker

Simply restart the game. No need to reinstall anything. Paradox is aware of the issue but has been unable to recreate it which makes a permanent fix impossible.

Restarting the game usually helps. Save your game, exit game, reopen, load. :)

I've tried that, I've narrowed it down to some mod, I don't know which though

For future use, the -disableMods launch param is a quick way to see if it's mod related. If the problem goes away when using -disableMods then it's mod related.

Unfortunately, the missing policy window occurs so sporadically and is corrected by restarting the game that -disableMods means you would basically have to continuously run without mods, and then be in the dark as to whether that really narrowed the problem down to mods or if the problem didn't happen simply you didn't let the test run long enough over multiple sessions.
I use only around a dozen mods, none of which effect the control bar, and I still have the issue periodically.

I'm having this same bug with the Polices Tab not opening. Never experienced it before the new Industries DLC came out.

I have this small problem as well (has become more prominent since the Industries DLC btw), and simply reloading the savegame fixes it every time. Also applies to the blue roads and disappearing objects glitch. Restarting the game does NOT fix the problem, it just brings you back to square one. This is on an Nvidia card by the way.

If reloading the save doesn't fix it, there's something you can try here: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/andrewts-compendium-thread-for-known-fixes.844461/

Loading the saved game (while already in game) fixed my issue! thanks!

It does not need to be a "previous save" either, if you are having this issue just simply save your current game and then go to Load Game and load the saved game.

I just had this glitch myself, no mods, on a different launcher, restarting the game didn't fix it, but I think I found the source. The DLC popup on the main menu.

I only get the glitch when I resume my last save, if I go to the main menu the glitch goes away.

Ah, OK. I always use the 'Load' option, rather than 'Continue'. For me, sometimes the Policies tab opens, sometimes it doesn't. I find it seems to fail more when I try to open the Policies tab before I've opened the Budget tab. It's not a 100% guarantee, but if I remember to open the Budget tab first, then generally the Policies tab will open !!
