2. Keep water intake completely away from ground pollution.
3. Plan ahead, look for more accesses to highways, where you want ind etc, allowing the game to run with a profit.
4. Don't add buildings you don't need, eg healthcare, too soon, they eat your profits. In fact, you dont need any medical centers/hospitals at all if you keep all pollution away from residents. Adding commercial to residential zones, especially high density com, noise pollution will make them sick. Keep any high density com 12 squares away from all residential.
5. Seed city at a slow constant speed after you have some cash in the bank.
When planning, all ind is to have its own DIRECT access to highways every time, even com can as well. Best advice use this: highway - ind - com - residential off the 1 highway access.
What exactly do you mean with you don't know how to play and what to do? You need to build roads and buildings so that you will have a city.
Just make sure your water supply is clean, so avoid pumping water that is polluted. Apart from that, just build your residential areas a bit away from the industry and build enough hospitals where your sick citizens can go to. After some point citizens die of natural age though, so after you initially get your first citizens, later at some point there will be a time you experience your first death wave and there is nothing you can do about that. That's not an issue though, they will simply be replaced by new citizens coming into your city or your general growth might be high enough anyway to outpace the death wave.
