Streets for Bus ONLY?
As the title says, I am getting confused with those Bus-Only-Streets, because they get used by common cars and trucks as well, which is not what I wanted...
Is there any way do designate this road for busses/cabs only?
And no, the Heavy-Traffic-Ban won't make a difference somehow...

I am not certain what you mean with "bus-only-streets". Are you talking about something from the workshop or those roads with bus lanes.

If latter, then the bus lane on road with bus lanes are being used by busses and emergency service vehicle.

If you want to restrict road use to busses and taxi only, you can use Traffic Maanager: President Edition, a mod on workshop. With that, you can ban all vehicles expect busses and taxis.

Im not sure if this is what your looking for but theres a mod called traffic manager and it allows you to ban certain vehicles

Network Extensions Project is out of date.

You don't need Network Extensions for bus only streets. Just use regular streets and ban all traffic other than buses with the Transport Manager mod.

Network Extensions mod was meant only for the visuals

I think OP is annoyed that the regular traffic uses vanilla bus lanes. Yeah, based on my observation they really make very little difference, unless it's a modded road with the bus-tram lanes down the middle. On top of that, emergency services use tram only lanes :steammocking:

It seems that the turn lane logic that makes all NPCs cling to the rightmost lane overrides the bus designation.

I don't understand what you mean here. I have uses NetWork Extensions since the beginning, since the original and never have I use it for eye candy, though I know and see a great many that do. Many folks place roads far too big for the required traffic flow (eye candy). They don’t use or understand hierarchy\speed limit to build the road networks in the game. This can and does causes single lane traffic jams because there too many lane that are not accounted for by traffic (lost lanes) and therefore the lane markings (the things used to govern what lane they use to do whatever is requested) gets messed up. Network Extensions is a road network building tool. If you want to paint with it is fine, but please don’t limit the tool to just that.

In this clip I mention lightly the value of dead lanes (lanes without road arrows on them)

I agree if they (traffic) wants to turn right at the next intersection then they will do it from the right lane which is the green bus lane. Personally I would love to give more info on controlling bus lanes but I too think of them as little more than painted lanes. I have not played with them much yet because of my opinion, though knowing what I know of traffic now I might be using them wrong or assumed things.

Though I too have never heard of a bus only street, there are ways to reduce\ divert traffic away from roads that busses run on by the use of speed limit and the quickest route rule.

Here is an example of diverting traffic to a different road to improve a controlled intersections traffic flow. (second repair)

The quick solves seem to be the Traffic Manager mod suggestion.

And you could be just using a mod to play for you if you don't do this. I have nothing against Traffic Manager but way back when the game came out the pc I used then at best would run the game at 20fps at population of 0. Thinking the traffic was bugged (a untruth spread by YouTube city “painters”) and unable to run some mods like traffic++, I was forced to learn to control traffic without such things. I can do things that traffic manager can't do, or dream of. I have friends who use traffic Manager extensively just to have me mention a whole bunch of stuff to help to run traffic better then it appeared in there game. One person told me after they turned Traffic Manager "off" they noticed no difference in the traffic flow overlay, which should be wrong. This enforced My belief that the real traffic behaviour is hiding under the pretence of traffic Manager. So the game does not operate better it just looks that way. Since then this friend still uses this mod though now as a tool rather than a replacement for knowledge! The issue with Traffic Manager is folks use it because they feel the traffic is broken so therefore when I view their gameplay and notice and voice these issues I see and the possible solve their response is often “that just the way it is, traffic is broken” or something related. After 2500 hours I and others can tell you IT’s not broken, just need learning.
We all play the way we play and that fine by all. Though because of the traffic mechanics being so misrepresented and promoted as broken In the beginning I always with any issue brought to this forum will do my best to give a vanilla solution above all others if I can for those who will benefit.
Build on my friends!

Somewhat, yeah.
To be honest, I had like 30-50 mods and failed to look through them. Anyhow, I guess it where those vanilla bus-only-lanes, that simply won't work. I wanted to make a bus route for those workers to get easier to their job, but it will get used by all sorts of vehicles. I just thought that it should work somewhat.
I figured out another way of driving the traffic away from that route though.

Nevermind... If you guys want to keep on arguing, feel free :D

I don't understand what you mean here.

The poster was responding to my comment that you didn't need NEXT to have bus only lanes. You could use TMPE with vanilla roads. S/he had originally suggested the two mods to OP. The 'eye candy' referred to the bus lanes available in NEXT.
