P.s. I also have the same problem. This game can really suck!
Or you really suck at handling computers, rather that for sure.
Obviously, if you had mods before, and you uninstalled them, you can't play the same game you were playing with those mods on. It will create conflict. You have to start a brand new city.
When you load a save, the game will look for and attempt to load everything that was in the save.
So, if you removed content such as mods and then attempt to load that save, the game will be unable to locate that content and the save may fail to load.
In future it would be safer to use the --noWorkshop launch setting which prevents all Workshop
content from being loaded when the game starts and allows you to load a wholly vanilla game. There would be no need to unsubscribe at all.
