Easier Way to Add Everything to a Collection?
I need to add everything I've subscribed to into a collection. Is there anyway possible to add everything at once? Clicking one at a time, then having the list refresh to the top will take me at least a week to complete. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best thing to do is make a collection for the category of the most items you have. Like props or trees. Add a bunch, then save, then in that collection click unsubscribe from all then go back to adding stuff. When you unsubscribe, those items will no longer show in the subscribed list, making it a bit easier when you scroll the list to add more. Do that a little at a time and the list gets shorter and shorter. It’s tedious and a pain but that’s steam for ya.

I have several collections, all categorized and organized. I have one for Trees, Props/Misc, Mods, Custom Assets, Vehicles, Service Vehicles, Houses/Buildings, etc....you get the idea.

When you’re all done, in the future when adding new workshop items, on the mods page you can subscribe, then up above click Add To Collection and a window pops up and you can select any and all of your collections you want that mod added to.

Unfortunately the way you’re doing it is the only way. If you click fast enough, it is possible to select more than one at once.

Thanks @BeantownFan73. I wish I'd have known about collections when I first started. I have created quite a few collections so far, but I need something to hold everything so I can start fresh without losing everything I like. Thanks again.

I would have to find the guide i used . but in essence

right click on the steam page. >inspect

you will see where you can change the size of the box , it does not stick after a refresh, so make it about 3/4 of the page and don't refresh till you have done nearly a page worth...

It really helped me to do 2000 in my collection, I also have different collections for everything, Mods, Residential, Commercial, Road, .....and so on.

EDIT:.. ok i found a VID instead of the written one i used...:)

@camero_69 I've tried that. I use Safari, but I saw it doesn't work in that, so I downloaded Firefox and I was able to do it there, but it's still daunting. When clicking down the list, but the time I scroll down (to see the next screen-full, it refreshes. I have 9,000 assets. The game performs just fine, but I'd like to be able to change some large scale things without breaking my game. I was hoping for some sort of built-in fix. I guess Steam isn't user-friendly in this area (and several others).
Thanks for taking the time to reply.

hahaha...very funny. I would have just expanded the field padding to 100,000 but the data grab doesn't collect all the items, so no matter what, it's going to refresh to the top.

It’s a daunting task but once you get it done, adding stuff later on is a snap.

There are so many things I've discovered that would have been useful to know when I first started playing. Setting up collections, how to use then and why would have been a GREAT thing to know early on.

I agree, took me a bit to figure out the collections but once I did it was a piece of cake. It’s the initial setup of the collections and getting everything sorted is what’s a pain.

Best thing is being able to sub and unsub all in the collection and still it remains in your collection so you don’t have to go hunting it down again in the workshop.

It's a shame modders can't write scripts that effect the website. :-)

I started out with no collections. Then I discovered them and created too many - like 100. Now I have one for low resi, low commercial, props, trees, etc. So 10-15, much more manageable. Something that really helps is to add modder's collections to your collection - i.e. someone who has resi houses that you like, add their collection to your resi collection.

That’s a great idea too, adding others collections but the downside is some haven’t been updated in a while and may contain incompatible mods or assets. What I’ve been finding a lot of lately is house/buildings with a lot of little props and other assets that are no longer in the workshop. Real pain going through and removing those assets.

I'm doing large groupings. I just set up the categories now. Click Here

It at least gets me started to "save" what I have subscribed to.
