Save Game Not loading after error
So I'd been working on this one city for like a month, then one day about a week ago an error message popped up about some kind of asset error (not exactly sure, could be a mod error too I guess). Whenever I clicked the "ok" button, it would immediately pop back up until I paused the game, so I saved and exited back to my desktop. Now the save file can't load as the loading bar just stops moving about at about 3/4 but the circle thing above it keeps moving uninterrupted. I am able to start a new map too, so I'm not sure what the problem is.

I tried unsubscribing from recent assets I thought could cause a problem and looked at other discussions, all to no avail. Im really confused and frustrated.

Please let me know if anyone knows about any recent things that could be relevant or how to fix this!!

Thanks - Christian

Sub to this mod and enable it, go to it's options and click to activate the reports note the location of the report folder, then load your save and keep an eye on the box to the left and the box center bottom.

After you try loading your save game a report will be created.

To view the report
Open File Explorer/Windows Explorer.
Type %AppData% into the address bar and hit enter.
Then navigate to Local/Colossal Order/Cities_Skylines/Reports and open the assets report, broken assets should be clearly labelled for you, identify which ones are broken and remove.

Always read a mods description and comments section before subscribing

I am on Mac so is there a difference as to what I should look up in file exchange/finder?
Check what folder the mod says it's saving the report to (it will be in the mod's options).
Ok so I tried this and I'm either an idiot and can't recognize if theres anything wrong wrong with the assets/mods or if there actually is anything wrong with the mods/assets. Imma post the report below and if anyone can take the time to look at that would be really cool since I feel like I don't know what im doing lmao.

Lmk if you can't open it.

Thanks, Christian

Ok lmk if this doesn't work

No but I've unsubscribed from them.

Also when I noticed that when I load it always freezes to some brown screen, but right before it does it says something about a simulation failure. I posted a pic of it below, thought it would be relevant

Go to the save that your trying to load in Content Manager - Saves, click Subscribe to all, wait for all the downloads to finish.
Exit the game
Verify the game files
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335

Reload the game go back to Content Manager - Saves and click Enable All, wait a few secxonds then try loading your game.

Remove all the assets that you don't want any more by bulldozing them, then save the game under a new name, then you can safely remove them from that save without it causing issues in Loading Screen.
You said you unsubscribed from Metro Overhaul Mod. Did you turn on ghost mode in that mod's options then save your game before unsubscribing?
I was never subscribed to metro overhaul
If you were never subbed to MOM why did you add all those assets that depend on it? It's really important that you read all descriptions for mods and assets before subbing to them and add the required dependencies to avoid issues like your having now.

Your save must be quite a mess with all that in mind and maybe worth you posting it for one of us to take a look at to see if it can be recovered.
Ok so I did all that and its still saying the same simulation failed.

When you say post it, do you mean the save file?

Have you got a back up save that you haven't overwritten?
