Do trees only drain GPU or also CPU?
Because my map has apparently over 20.000 trees and I'm looking for ways to improve performance after 100k pop.

No matter how many trees you have this game is CPU bound.
Squirting Elephant 5. aug. 2019 kl. 2:52
Yes but do they impact the CPU or not?
Pirazel 5. aug. 2019 kl. 6:03
Yes, they do but not much. I do not think its worth removing them for a tiny bit more perfomance.

Tree's have an affect on wind, this requires calculation. I disable this with unlim tree's mod pretty sure.

Tree's cast shadows if enabled, shadows use CPU, I disable shadows on larger cities only for beaty shots.

A mod has an option to enable/disable "tree sway" not sure if vanilla or put in by mod.

Tree's take a miniscule amount of ram for every one plopped, Using unlim tree's mod you could potentially eat up all your ram, lots of dif tree's increase fsb usage could bottleneck on some systems,

Outside of placing millions, I doubt it'd be noticable.

Oh disabling the wind stuff would probably free up some CPU yes. I have no GPU/RAM problems only CPU.

Is there a list somewhere of all performance enhancing mods? I found a few but maybe there is like a master list?

Might be an idea to post your computer specs. Then maybe someone might have a solution what else to do.

Windows 10
16GB RAM DDR3
SSD
CPU: Intel I-7 3.6Ghz Quad, 8 logical
GForce GTX 680

But only have CPU problems so only CPU matters I guess.

If you turn weather effects off, which is an in game setting, then your turbines and solar plants run at 100% output all the time. Nice !!

Damn, never realised this lol. Kinda prefer it this way myself since there isnt Batteries as a night cycle option.

it's pretty much - Load screen mod, Hideit!, No Animals, No Seagulls, Less steam

Zoom it! - helps make the game "feel" faster by allowing a free camera.

You might find increased performance using TM:PE with simulation accuracy on low. Especially if you use TM:PE.

People lacking gpu can use dynamic res to upsample.

Not real sure of anything other mods that could help. There are mods that disable dummy traffic (traffic just going through the map) that could help? Or cheaty mods like no power needed or whatever. Most mods help improve gameplay with little impact on performance than some mods just bog the game down.

I assume that HideIt, Less steam only decreases GPU.
I'm not sure if TMPE actually increases performance.

Removing animals might may a slight difference for the CPU.

Mate not sure if you asking to have more FPS, if you do try and do a search on this forum on FPS and you will quickly see that a lot of people with very good riggs are having problems with their FPS.
