How do I pan with mouse?
I'm getting frustrated having to use the WASDQERF and whatever other buttons there are to pan the fricking mouse.

In particular the QERF buttons should be simply mapped to the mouse orientation...I mean jeesh why can't I just right click on the ground and adjust the entire way the camera pans using just the mouse alone? Right Left Up Down That would save me 1000000% time and trouble to get a good view...I mean for godssakes...do I really need all those fricking keyboard buttons to turn my camera every time? How do I fix this? Btw wasn't there a button you could press to lock the camera and pan freely using the mouse? Soooo frustrating...

Go to the Options Menu > Gameplay > set Edge Scrolling Enabled and adjust the sensitivities to your personal preference.
Moving right/left and forward/backward then occurs when moving the mouse to the respective edge.
Camera rotation occurs (independent from edge scrolling being enabled) by pressing middle mouse button and moving the mouse in respective direction (unless you have set some particular action for middle mouse button in your mouse profile, i.e. as possible with Logitech Gaming Software et al).
Btw... documented in the game manual. ;-)

What you are looking for is here. When scroll feature is activated you click and drag the Right mouse button to scroll about the map. Click and drag a little, scrolls slowly. Drag a lot and it scrolls faster just like you request. This mod has other great features such as first person view which is completely adjustable. As well as different moving speeds while in first person mode. Only thing is if you wish to use this mod you will need to unsubscribe to any and all other first person camera mods you have. The first person mode in this mod is far better than the others I have used.

The scrolling feature is useable only when no other tool like road building, zoning, power….is activated. Deactivate the tool and you have scrolling again.
The zoom to curser feature is nice too.

Thank you guys! I prefer to use the right mouse button and I sadly found out my middle mouse button is totally broken except for the zoom function...guess I'll buy a new mouse tomorrow at the store :/ but I hate using that to scroll anyway so thanks for the mod!

You guys are great!

Hi all... first-time post!

That link above is now broken. Is there something similar that can help? I'd love to be able to pan around using my mouse without having to bash into the side of the screen. Also, zooming in and out would be much better centred on the mouse curser rather than the centre of the screen. Anyone know of anything out there that allows for this? I'm thinking about the controls in Photoshop, for example, where you hold the spacebar to enable panning the view with mouse drags.

This is what I'm finding very frustrating too - and I have to say it's one of the things spoiling my enjoyment of the game. I'm using Steam on a Mac and I think it's way more difficult to control than what I've seen on Biffa's videos and others'. After about 50 hours, I finally figured out most of the weirdness with lining up and building roads etc - still very frustrating that there's no undo (in cases of mouse misclicks, for example).

PS I got into this because I found Biffa's videos on youtube and wanted to have a go; so credit to him :)

Not sure what's with the last link I posted.
Here this is that same mod. Read how to activate the mouse scrolling. Hope it works on a Mac. To see it in action view any of my clips in my profile.
