Ferries not spawning
One depot, two stops, all well connected as far as I can see. After trying out a lot of different ferry routes I finally managed to establish a line between the two stops, but now the depot refuses to spawn ferries. Tried different places and routes for the depot (with and without mods, using shift or not), but nothing works. Can anyone please tell me what is wrong? A screenshot:

When I use IPT2 it shows that the depot is working normally and the ferries are queued to spawn, but in the end they don't show when they should.

Is the ferry depot within range of a shipping lane? The ferries arrive at the ferry depot from the outside connection, out to sea.

I didn't know that and I don't think so. I have no sea close to my city.

So no sea access, no ferries? That is a sad situation... Why then is IPT2 showing ferries queuing in the depot, counting down the seconds till next ferry to leave?

Have you tried without having IPT2 enabled?

Yes, I started without IPT2, but when everithing else failed, I wanted to see what was happening. That is why I installed IPT2. First I tried with all the mods disabled, but no joy either...

GH I am surprised at you! They spawn directly at the depot, no need for outside connections.

This would be incorrect. You may be confusing the Passenger Ship Terminal.

For ferries, you need a ferry depot, plopped anywhere and at least two ferry piers.
Connect the depot with the ferry piers via the ferry path tool. That's not a shipping line. its a ferry line.
Connect the piers together with the same ferry line tool.
Then with the stops tool make a stop on one ferry pier, then the other, then connect back to the original.
Once you make that line, ferries come out of the ferry depot and run the line.

You must have the depot connected to the ferry piers via a ferry path.

If anyone wants to take a look at the problem:

I redrew the ferry pathway between the ferry stop and the depot and ferries started to spawn immediately. maybe it wasnt drawn correctly?
Marcus Aquila Dec 29, 2017 @ 1:41pm
How exactly did your redraw that pathway? I literally tried over twenty different pathways and none of them did the job. Can you say where I went wrong?

Edit: I just gave it another go, tried 5 different pathways - none of them were successful. :(

Maybe I should try to reinstall the game...

Edit: decided to verify integrity of game cache (for the second time) before uninstalling and - wonder of wonders - now it works. Thanks barrygreybeard!
