Bigger than 81 tile map size
Will there be a feature (or mod) that will allow you to have maps bigger than 81 tiles?

There are a number of mods that do that, this is one for example,

Seems missundestood... the maps only have 81 tiles, youre wish would mean we would need
bigger maps at all... and that is one of the limits the game gives us.

Well, the game also gave a 9 tile limit but we made mods to up it to 81

The map itself is 81 tiles big, the largest you can buy without mods is 9, the largest available to be "bought" is 25 (9 of which you can buy to build a city in a non-quadrangular shape.) The game engine can *barely* accommodate the 25 tiles, wanting 81 is just to have a bit more freedom and spread out the city's areas but it really pushes the simulation.

In effect, there's no need to have more than 81 tiles because you don't even really need *that* many you'd reach the limits of buildings, vehicles and so-forth long before you fill even 25 tiles.

everywhere i come across people who say you don't need more than 81 tiles.

I Want more than 81 tiles. there is no reason to arbitrarily limit the number of tiles since the game is already limited by the number of entities, buildings and trees.

but if a larger map exist we could model regions not just cities. so we have a region with multiple small cities connected by highway and other connections.

The Vanilla nine tile limit is by no means an arbitrary value as the other in game limits factor into the basic nine tile limit as well. And FYI, these limits were put in place to make sure that the game won't get broken and remains stable.

Open the map editor and you will see that the game maps are 81 tiles by itself and no bigger and will not be able to be modded bigger. Maybe in the future the devs will code the game to make maps bigger than 81 tiles, but remember, once you get to that size you will run into CPU issues, even as newer and faster ones are made, they will always be the limiting factor in a CPU intensive game like CS and MSFS. Video cards do not matter for these types of games.
