FPS uncapping

so, i was attempting to run the game above 60 FPS, and finally managed to do so without speeding the game up

how to:

1. run the game at least once to generate config file
2. go to C:\Users\USERNAME\Saved Games\Beyond Good & Evil - 20th Anniversary Edition and open BGE.player.ini in a text editor.
3. Under [Display], add

RefreshRate=144

If playing at 4K, add

RefreshRate_4K_PC=144

You can change 144 to whatever you want.
4. Add a new section at the bottom.

[Time]
MaxDt = 0.2666666666
# max 288 fps, higher is untested, lower works fine. (If you need higher, then the value here is 1 divided by refresh rate)
MinDt = 0.0034722222
EnableFixedDt = false

5. Save the file and boot up the game. It should now run at high framerates. I didn't play for long, so it's possible that something breaks this way.

I myself tried PresentationInterval = 0 to disable VSync

the game got remaster release to work well in Recent Hardwares and people should also tweak in settings to play the game correctly ,? tell me please isnt this a SCAM ?

What's your monitor refresh rate? Vsync also caps FPS, theres an option for it in the switch ini I linked, so you could disable it.

my monitor refresh rate dropped to 60 somehow after the driver update

I didn't try for long, but it seemed to be normal speed.
Seems like the game has a variable framerate system, but it's disabled by default.

ok so I figured it out. The reason that the cap wasn't changing is that I'm playing in 4K and for the 4k resolution you need to use another parameter:

# Max allowed FPS in 4K resolution
RefreshRate_4K_PC=60

Definitely works - playing at 4k 120 fps. But game is choppy / stutters? Any fixes for this?

Maybe trying VSync on?

Personally playing in 1080p 100fps on GTX 1060. Runs flawlessly performance wise.

BTW, is the game running in Unreal Engine? Folders and files structure screams it.
