Elevator Platforms & Living Conversations!

Hey Orin fans! 👋

We've been hard at work adding some exciting new features that'll make exploring the depths even more immersive. Let's dive in!

🛗 New Elevator Platform System

Navigate vertical shafts like never before! Our new lever-operated elevator platforms bring a classic Metroidvania puzzle element to the game.

How it works:

Find a lever near a platform shaft

Pull it to summon the elevator to your position

Ride up or down to reach new areas

Levers at both ends let you call the platform from either side

The platforms feature smooth rope-and-pulley visuals that react as you travel, complete with satisfying mechanical sound effects. Some areas will require you to think about which lever to pull first!

Perfect for those "how do I get up there?" moments.

💬 Dynamic Dialogue System

Characters now feel truly alive! We've completely overhauled our conversation system using Yarn Spinner, and the results speak for themselves (literally).

What's new:

Dynamic Expressions - Characters react in real-time as they speak. Watch their faces shift from curious to surprised to determined as the conversation unfolds

Expression Commands - <<express happy>>, <<express angry>>, <<express thinking>> - each character has a unique set of expressions that match their personality

Smooth Transitions - No more jarring face swaps. Expressions blend naturally as dialogue progresses

NPCs now feel like they're actually in the conversation with you, not just reading from a script.

These systems work together to create more memorable moments:

Discover a hidden elevator shaft blocked by destructible blocks

Meet an NPC who hints at what's below with a worried expression

Pull the lever, descend into the unknown

Find secrets, lore, and maybe a boss or two...

🔥 Dev Update — Roast Round Two: We've Applied Your Feedback! 🔥

Hey everyone!

A few days ago, we shared an early clip of our Metroidvania project and asked for honest feedback over on Reddit[www.reddit.com]. The community delivered — and in true Metroidvania fashion, we went back, explored the weak points, and unlocked some upgrades.

Today, we’re excited to show you a new short gameplay clip that reflects many of the improvements you asked for. Animations, lighting, visual clarity — we tackled it all (well, as much as possible for this round!).

🔍 What's New in This Clip?

🕹 Better Lighting — We brightened things up where needed while keeping the mood intact.
🧍‍♂️ Clearer Interactables — Breakable chests and key objects now have subtle highlight layers.
💥 Improved Effects — Impact feedback is starting to take shape with particles and subtle shake.
🎨 Style Pass — Still a WIP, but we’re starting to hone in on a more cohesive visual identity.
🧭 Community-Led Direction — All thanks to your honest comments and roasts 😅🔥

Exciting New Marketing Addition for Our Upcoming Metroidvania!

Let’s keep diving into Jumit family’s new acquisitions!

Today, we’re excited to introduce you to our digital marketing expert, Daylen.

She’ll be gathering feedback on what you’d like to see in our new Metroidvania, so we can deliver exactly what our community wants.

Collaboration Born from Fascination

“As a lifelong fan of Metroidvania's parent genres, I’ve always been captivated by what makes these games so special. My mission is to dive deep into the community, understand its desires, and ensure that Orin delivers on those expectations. We’re committed to creating a game that resonates with the Metroidvania community. By listening to your feedback and analyzing your preferences, we’re able to shape Orin into the best possible experience.”

A Self-Made Digital Marketer

Daylen didn’t follow the traditional path into marketing. She’s been self-taught since she began her B.Sc. in Biochemistry at the University of Havana.

“I started exploring the world of digital marketing in my second year of college. I taught myself the basics, which later helped me land my first clients during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. I’d say my greatest learning experience came from facing the real world before I was 'completely ready.' There’s nothing like making big mistakes, learning from them, and constantly improving to become who you aspire to be."

“I’m also a cat lover and proud cat mom. I enjoy great films—mostly American, I’ll admit—and I’m obsessed with staying up-to-date by listening to podcasts. Lately, I’ve become a huge fan of Orin and have been racking up hours playing the test version. But to see just how good I am, you’ll need to watch the video!”
