What am I missing completion-wise for bbs?
I have a clear file for all 3 characters that I THOUGHT was at 90%+, but looking at the trinity archives I'm only at like 61% completion... including missing some "story" even though I have that mickey emblem for all 3 characters. (unless I have to load my Aqua save and then save it again for it to count)

I'm not sure if I'm missing any super rare monsters, and I know I didn't 3-star all the special fights, I did get most the treasures/stickers so that's not a huge percentage. I also spent a lot of type melding, but I could be missing a ton there I didn't check

But, ya, 61%? How am I missing so much?

what's the best place to xp grind? 46 seems too low for this

I am looking at Reactor, but my garden is only Tier 6 so Megaflare only gives me 700 XP, which is pretty dang slow

Vanitas's angry ghost has a lot of defense and very short openings, so multi-hit commands and normal attacks aren't very effective, I beat him with mines with Ven and Aqua, and after a few very frustrating attempts with Terra I went to the rock.

If you have Megaflare, the spot in Radiant garden where you fought the Trinity Armor is a favorite, first you turn off any treasure magnet abilities and then with Exp Chance on, you lower your health to 1/4 (when it starts blinking and the siren plays) quickly run to the middle of the area and then back to screen entrance and then cast Megaflare, if you have it use Finishing Pose to double the exp and then cast another Megaflare if you have it and then leave and re-enter starting the whole process over.

That's the fastest non-Terra way I know of.

You can also just kill things in the Keyblade Graveyard, it takes a lot less prep but it is far slower.
The bonus bosses all chew through your HP so leveling can only do so much however.

get exp chance and exp walker. now get yourself to low life and start walking in circles while watching a movie or a show.

So a list of abilities to make the reactor actually worth your time is:
Exp Chance
Exp Walker
Magic Haste X 5
Reload Boost
Fire Boost X 3
Command wise it's:
Mega Flare X 2 or 3
Victory Pose

It IS a little grindy if you don't already have these skills but if you do it right it won't take very long to level any spare Mega Flares or their components with this method.

This method works fine as well just make sure you are walking in a circle and not into a wall the game cuts you off Exp walker if you do.
If you are using a controller, a rubber band or string on both sticks is the easiest solution.

does micky double xp stack with exp chance for quad xp?
tykandre Aug 3, 2024 @ 3:41pm
It might, but using D-links heal you to full on top of not lasting very long, in either method you don't want to pick up anything as that would make you have to injure yourself again, slowing things down enormously, so that's not going to work.

Beat Lingreing will without even getting hit by just spamming icecream... :p

MF ... I can't even gauge MF, I lose before I get control. I thought I'd try to land one shotlock just to get a measure of what I might need to do, but it healed him :V

not sure why Reactor is so recommended tho, it gives only 700 base XP ... Indian Camp gives 900 and only needs 1 megaflare; Admittedly though the walk time is slightly longer for Indian Camp and it's harder to stay in critical HP to doulbe up so maybe the XPM is lower

Of course, if Aqua could raise the Combat Lv of zones that'd be different

edit: Ok, Indian Camp isn't as consistent. The 900xp nuke can only be done if the prize pod type room isn't there

I'd heavily recommend beating No-Heart in the arena for his keyblade it helps speed things up, which is the only thing that really helps with this MoFo.

The rules of the MF dance are as follows, no more than 4 cure-type commands,
no elemental dodge abilities in the first four slots (but they are bad for this fight anyway),
Fire/thunder Surge are your friend, normal attacks are a no-no, shot-locks only work if you get like 3 or less hits with them otherwise he will just heal himself with it so they're not really worth it.
D-links automatically put him into phase two, so don't use them before then if you don't like pain.
If he summons clones, try to surge into them otherwise spam the living hell out of dodge roll/cart wheel.
In phase two he goes invisible for long periods and starts spamming doom and various screen nukes, either wait until he reappears or spam surges into his general vicinity hoping for the best, just be glad you're not doing it as Terra.
Even with all those restrictions the fight is still almost all luck, one bad combo, tornado at the wrong time, or overuse of doom spells the end.

So this would be the last entry in the reports... but that implies I'd have to do this on everyone anyways :p

anyways

Back to my original topic title before this became BlogFAQs... my completion was at 61%. I had to dip back on to Terra to get Xenahort File 5, but other than that I only 99.9%'d Aqua; which brings my total completion to 86%, which does seem more accurate for clearing the game 3 times.

I guess a ton of the game's progress is the Arena and minigames

I just turned the game off for the day, and thought of something...

Victory Pose only gives the XP for the last instance of XP gained, but it SEEMS to be repeatable... if there was a way to ohko blobmom then I could just afk spamming victory pose
tykandre Aug 3, 2024 @ 5:18pm
Two Megaflares will do it, that's actually Terra's fast XP method, in skull rock there is one of those splitting jellyfish, just cast Megaflare twice, do a fancy pose, leave, enter, repeat ad nauseam.

Yeah the Trinity report requires everything on all three characters plus the extra stuff from Aqua's secret episode.
So I'd imagine it comes down to mostly arena/mini game stuff on your two other files.

Excuse me if I got a bit too chatty, just went through all of this recently, figured it be a way to vent.
Blind Aug 4, 2024 @ 1:21pm
thanks all, I did it - my Aqua even has a glowing emblem in the trinity report now

I beat MF and... didn't get record completion? I was like wuuuuuuuuuuut

...I guess even though I have the Arena Mark, I didn't actually 'clear' No Heart so I beat him again (2 minutes 15 seconds for 2000 medals, EZ) and I guess that was it, even though I had the Radiance, I didn't have the clear or something... weird.

Aqua Complete.
