I truly hope they can get them working and no online requirement. Would be a real dream come true!
The ONLY thing wrong with them is that the EGS versions on Deck cannot play the pre-rendered opening cutscenes (and the endings as well) but there is a fix to make the game just skip those when they roll around. The rest of the experience is perfectly fine and in-tact.
For CoM, the game is quite barebones without any cutscene (and let's be honest, it's not the best experience to enjoy KH games when half of the interest is to follw the story)
But in practice, it really does cheapen/ ruin the experience of playing the KH games when a lot of the cutscenes simply don't work and you have to constantly skip over important/ cool cinematics.
And it's not just the opening and endings, there are random cutscenes sprinkled throughout the games that turns out are pre-rendered because they don't work, i.e. Roxas's memories of Sora at the end of each Day at the start of KH2, and a bunch of scenes in the battle of 1000 heartless scenes, and elsewhere.
As someone who primarily got the Deck to play the PC KH games on the go, it really was a pretty big disappointment to find out that I had missed that "fine print" while I was doing my research, and honestly you'd be better off emulating the RPCS3 versions if they don't fix the cutscene issues on the Steam release. the PS3 ReMIXes are nearly identical to the PC versions, with the one downside their being locked at 30FPS
