PS3 controller?
I recently started using my PS3 controller for my PC games as my Xbox controllers just break down constantly, and so far everything I've tried has worked perfectly except this game. It's just totally and completely broken. It presses buttons twice or presses other buttons I didn't press, no idea what's going on. Anyone ever experience anything like this?

Force steam input to be disabled for RE4, maybe that'll work.

Also you could try DS4windows, it's compatible with the DS3 afaik.

Thanks. Seems Steam input was already disabled, as I thought maybe it was treating it as two controllers for some reason. I've tried every device mode in DsHidMini and they all seem exactly the same. It does have a DS4windows mode, so maybe if I use both it will help.

Hard to say how but I've more or less fixed it. It's probably a combination of these things that worked:
1) enabled Steam input globally for PS controllers
2) grabbed a totally empty/blank layout for Steam input's desktop mode
3) enabled Steam input for RE4
4) set DsHidMini back to Xinput

I had done #2 a while ago but for my Xbox controller, but it wasn't set for my DS3, as evidenced by the mouse cursor moving via the DS3's right stick input.

I tried DS4windows, which never detected my controller, and HidHide which it prompted me to download and which never seemed to hide my controller, so I don't think it has anything to do with those.

Actually I recommend u to buy a PS4 controller, or u have budget can go for PS5 controller that is even better...PS3 controller I tried before, it was not nice to use on PC as connection is not stable and there is no official support on Steam for PS3 controller

Are they made well? I've read mostly complaints online. My PS3 controllers are in perfect or near perfect condition for 7-15 years, the D-pads actually feel good for 2D games, and new ones are in my budget.

Steam sees my controller as an Xbox controller right now and I have no problem with that. I can use DS4windows to emulate a PS4 controller instead if I really want to.

Right now I have it connected with the cable, so I don't know how it'll fair when I get the bluetooth dongle.
