Are cut-scenes real-time on engine or pre-rendered?
The important question.

They're real-time, and more often than not, involve some kind of quick time event.

real-time.
Was it specifically officially confirmed, or is it just an intelligent guess based on general information available?

pretty much every version of Resident Evil 4 had real-time cut-scenes. and seeing the game is a wopping 15GB. i doubt its pre-rendered xD

also look at Resident Evil Revelations. it originaly came from a handheld. but all the cut-scenes are real-time and updated.

Except for PS2 and PC versions. So if this new re-release is based on the old PC version, only with better textures, then we are screwed. It must be ported for a second time almost from scratch to fix the issue.

Resident Evil Revelations cut-scenes are actually pre-rendered, so you are wrong here =(.
So I get it, it was only a guess on your part about RE4 cut-scenes.

its been a while i played this game. so i might just do that. but RE4 will be real-time. specially with the 15GB base game.

Actually 15 GB sounds a little bit too much for a game with no pre-rendered videos, so I fail to see how that proves anything.

I know this iteration is 15 GB.
What I want to say, the fact it is 15 GB is kinda alerting. Kinda too much for a re-release of a game that old. What is there to take so much space? Nowadays the worst offenders to disc space are indeed often pre-rendered cut-scenes.

if you read closely. the game has higher textures, character models and all objects has been updated as well. pre-rendered cut-scenes usually takes less space then actual real-time cut-scenes. and as what i've seen from the the trailer on steam. it looks real-time. its the exact samething they did with the X360 and Ps3 version. those versions had real-time cut-scenes too. because all the custom outfits showed up in all the cut-scenes.

CGI scenes in HD? (very unlikely since I doubt in 2003 they rendered them in anything higher than 480)
Does anyone know how much the PS3 HD version is in size?

Resident Evil 4 HD is only 3.59 GB on Xbox 360.

lol 2003. the game is from 2005. Resident Evil 4 had only one pre-rendered cut-scene. which was the intro. the rest was all real-time. so that wasn't difficult to update each time it was re-released. i only played the X360 version. it was around 4GB if i remember correctly. but i need to re-download the game to be 100% sure.

edit:
