Fish mutant boss...

it's so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ buggy that it's dumb. The mouse aiming doesn't work really at all.. Fix that. The boat handles LIKE ♥♥♥♥.

Its a mutated giant salamander, google it. :-) And you have to drive the boat either left or right to avoid those floating tree trunks the monster drives you onto them to make you fall in the water. If there's no trunks ahead quickly grab a harpoon and move the red cursor (target) on the beast and shoot. You have some seconds for that.

The cursor is so buggy! I can't move it, and it ♥♥♥♥♥ me every freaking time! I got it though, i just used the keyboard keys to contorl it, and it worked; please fix though! Almost killed the game for me :S

There is certainly a list of pros and cons when it comes to using the mouse for this game. Did you try lowering the sensativity ingame for the boss section? That might help.

Well done for beating it. I'm sure I've died a record number of times in this game already, just from trying to get used to the controls. I also just killed Ashley with the knife (by accident!), which I didn't even realise was possible.

It just wouldn't aim at certain parts! I tried lowering it, but didn't help :S.

I don't think I knew you could control the boat, so I have a feeling every time the boat headed for a log I let it, rather than knowing to move out the way (D'oh!).

I've actually purchased a controller just to play this game, so I'll let you know if it's any easier. I originally played, and completed it, on the Gamecube, I don't remember dying as many times as I have on the PC version (so much swearing!). Or dying several times in the space of a few minutes.

Yea, i beat that boss with no problem on the PS2, but had some trouble with the PC. I have a Shield, so i should play it on there, but i do find it easier to get head shots with the mouse though in some situations. It does feel a lot more natural on a controller though, but this is a port :p.

Dodgeing the Troll boss that is shortly after the Mutant fish lizard is really hard, and that's because quick time events on the keyboard are... awkward ><

Headshots/sniping with the mouse is fantastic, but moving the camera around whilst running is very awkard - mainly because I have it on maximum sensativity for shooting, so the camera moves around really easily.

I don't know why they kept the tank controls for this remake. This version would have been a good time to add free look movement via the mouse. That would be so much easier.

Yes, quick time events (QTE) on the pc version aren't much fun at all. And there are loads of them throughout the game, so that equals a lot of frustration.
When I played it on the Gamecube I was lucky enough to have a wireless controller, which I turned off during cut scenes. There is one part of the game that has loads of QTE within a cut scene, and I died SO MANY TIMES because I kept turning it off, only to die to a QTE.
I really don't want to do that same part of the game on a PC...my swearing will go into overtime! >_<

I hope Ashley does better under your protection than mine. I'm not even half way through the game yet, and I've already accidentally killed her once, been accused of being a pervert - whilst saving her life(!), and seen her get killed by a giant explosive thing. The president wouldn't be very happy with my efforts so far O_o

true story. died so many times pressing exactly what i was supposed to. changed it to 30 fps, passed every time.

I know people don't like to hear this, but you'd be doing yourself a big favor if you played this with a gamepad. In doing so, I've had zero issues with the QTEs and it controls perfectly.

I agree, in the later part of the game the QTE will just become incredibly annoying, as you are essentially punished for not being psychic.

It's a miracle that we finally have decent RE4 port, so even if it's played with a controller (you can always switch between the two control methods at certain points in the game) it's still great to be able to play it on a PC.
