It looks like someone wiped crap over everything.
Please fix it.
However i fixed problems like this in many games such as any NIXXES port, or recent Mortal Kombat, RE5, RE6, RER (all recent residents uses Xbox 360 gamma which is weird and stands near 1.8 while pc correct non linear gamma should be 2.2, so any resident on PC is actually brighter than it should be, but only RE4 has problem with darker highlights) "
Voodooman's post about the issue.
It makes the Gamecube version look much better.
From what I can tell from various screenshots posted, this is actually an issue that stems from the 360 port and was thus simply carried over to the Steam version.
Also I just made a quick attempt to bring the colors a bit closer to the Wii and reduce the orange tint using the post-processing gradients. Below Steam caps were captured with brightness +40.

You can get it here: http://www.fileswap.com/dl/OXnezZiCln/
Extract it to the BIO4\gradients folder (do a backup of the original ones first) and use post-processing 3.
Yes the 360 version has the same issue.
It makes the game look very ugly compared to Gamecube.

Huge improvement.
Makes the game looks much more like it is meant to be.
This isn't a minor problem, it effects the entire game doing things like turning grey skies into brown skies.
RE4 is meant to be bleak not brown.
