Ashley is so annoying, it's making this game hard to enjoy..
I kid you not, i've died probably 30 times in the past hour because of her. Certain times where you can't just tell her to wait or hide and leave her alone. The times where she has to be next to you. All she ever does is jam doorways and block my movements and gets us both killed. I can't stand companions in games. AI just isn't good enough to support it.

I've played and beat this game before, but I don't remember her being this much of a poroblem.

Just command her wisely and everything will be fine.

Where i was at, when i died the most (she has only died 2 or 3 times total), was an area where i was going up a staircase with enemies in the room atop the staircase and enemies that spawned below the staircase. I just about had to kill everyone before I even had a chance to find a spot to put her. The area with the gold and silver swords. Just a rough spot I guess, and I had a little bad luck as well, but I am past it now. I still hate AI companions though. They've always been an annoyance in all games. Just to a lesser extent in some.

The area with the 2 swords is really easy. Like, wow. How can you die there? The water room is way harder imho.

Don't need to be a ♥♥♥♥ about it. I don't know either, had a rough spot where she kept getting in my way no matter what. Played through the game with ease until that point.

Escorting Ashley really isn't difficult. She stands about a foot behind you at all times and if you ever need her to quickly move behind you just start aiming. Most of the time there's a safe place you can tell her to go hide anyway.

Use Z, its there for a reason

theres really only 2 specific situations i can think of where having her around is a huge liability. In terms of AI companions and escort missions Ashley is BY FAR one of the least painful ones i can remember and shes only with you for maybe ~20% of the game. Atleast you can tell her to hide or stay and she does duck and get behind you when you aim which is more i can say for a majority of other escort situations in other games.

20% of the game, but 45% of the main story with Leon. But still easy to manage her. The only part where I have slight problems is the second El Gigante, but thats the only time I need to heal her and funny wise the hardest part of the fight.

Mean while I've never died once because of her this time around. She is a good distraction more so than an annoyence. I use her as bait sometimes.

Agreed. Thankfully, after you beat the game you unlock a side mission that, when beaten, unlocks an option to make Ashley invincible. No more worries.

I remember how incredible it felt everytime that Ashley got abducted in the game.

Nothing Two Hand Grenades, TMP and a Bolt Action Rifle can not handle. Seriously you can beat him without even going through the door, and all you have to do is stand your ground with Ashly behind you.

Bolt Rifle if you have firepower upgraded to the highest you can get at that point in the game is what you use to shoot the worm that comes out of it's back. TMP/Grenades are good for bringing it down to it's knees.

By this time you should of saved up two more grenades since the last Gigante fight.

With replay throughs the Bolt Rifle and TMP will be more than a match on their own without grenades. They're my Gigante killers. Bolt Rifle even so early in the game will kill the two early Gigantes in like 3 shots vs their little Worm thing.

Just picture that combo on replay throughs when the TMP/Rifle are fully upgraded.. normally takes 1 shot that time around.

Not buying Bolt Rifle. :P
It's just not worth this single El Gigante fight, if I prefer the semi-auto rifle by far (and save money).

Yeah, TMP does the job well enough, with the help of those boulders. The infamous water room is the only big problem for me, Ashley-wise.
