Resident Evil 4 (2005)

Can't get past the minecart train bit
You know the bit with the underground tunnels and you're riding 3 minecarts? At the end, after it gives the prompt to jump to safety before the carts fall into the hole, it says to hammer the X button to climb up.
I've died there 3 times now and have to repeat the entire train bit again each time! Is anyone else having trouble with this. I;ve never had a problem with this on the Gamecube, Wii and 360 versions.

This looks similar to the same bug in the last mission of GTA IV.
Weird, I got it on my first try, and in the back of my mind, I was afraid I'd mess it up. I DID have issues with the plauge knights, a while ago, when I SWORE I was hitting the button, but, I only died once, and the second miss-hit only dropped me into red health. Eh, must just be a bug.

Yeah must be...I had another few goes now and I tried type 1/type 2 controller settings (Shouldn't affect it as the action key is the same anyway) and also the keyboard but no joy.
I had that glitch the first time. Thought for sure I was mashing away, but he still died. Second time it worked without a problem. I didn't do anything differently, so. Probably a bug somewhere.
I tried the full health herb thing right before the jump and had to mash the absolute crap out of the X button (think i will have an X engraved into my thumb for life) but i'm finally past it.

Yea, its definately a problem as same thing happened to me and i was smashing it pretty fast. I died about 9 times and had to repeat all those times. Before you get to that part
(bashing the x button) you will get a prompt to push another button, you have to hit them pretty quickly. Same thing when you are running from the giant statue.
that f in stature bridge jump i know im hittin x and prev jump its pissin me off
Congrats FonZie, good to know it's actually possible (if only some of the time). I'll have to give it another go myself, maybe with a script to mash x for me just to make sure it's inputing as fast as possible.
Yeah it's a relief...the next bit is where that giant statue chases you though and you end up hanging off another ledge, I died once and thought "ffs here we go again" but fortunately second time was fine. Genuinely hope you guys get past it too. Best of luck :)

If you don't care for QTEs, try this:

Just tried using this script and the QTE still failed.
:edit: I just went back and tried o for the mouse wiggle and it moved the ingame camera back and forth, so it seems the script is working in game. So since the x mashing should be fast enough I guess this confirms the QTE just doesn't work at all for me.

I'm having serious issues with this too right now.

Until now I haven't come across a single bug that affected gameplay in any way, but after failing 11 times at this IN A ROW when i'm mashing the key like crazy (on normal difficulty btw) it's become obvious that it's some game breaking bug.

Even if it weren't a glitch, I still have the Wii edition and every time I got that sequence on the first try on professional difficulty; so something's definitely up here.

Haven't tried the QTE script but i'm hoping I have some luck with it because ♥♥♥♥ restarting the game from the beginning at this point and who knows how long it'll be before a patch is released.

I'm sorry to hear it was to no avail, and I guess that if the script doesn't work, it really it is proof that there's something wrong.

ps: Some people said that mashing "e" worked for them. You can easily edit that:

while(var)
{
Send {Blind}{x DownTemp}
Sleep sleep_var
Send {Blind}{x up}
Sleep sleep_var
}

becomes

while(var)
{
Send {Blind}{e DownTemp}
Sleep sleep_var
Send {Blind}{e up}
Sleep sleep_var
}

Edit: I just tried it now with Ashley turning the crank and it worked -- remember, hold "p".

I wonder what it could be though.
I did the suggestion of switching the FPS to a fixed 30 and I still haven't gotten any results with two more tries.
Well I tried switching to e since you kindly provided that quick script edit, and it was still a bust. I'm actually kind of happy about this one failing since if the problem all along was capcom just had the wrong damn key coded for that QTE that'd be real sad. As for game performance, tweeking my settings (even though it's been running fine with no signs of slowdown) changing to 30 fps and even turning off anti alising hasn't stopped Leon from falling to his death.
