How to turn on Subtitles?

I'm having NO issues with this game other than not being able to turn subtitles on. I go to Options > Video Settings but the Subtitles option is blacked out. How do I turn Subtitles on?

I found an option in the ini for it, but it doesn't seem to actually do anything...

There is a bug on it, Tried everything.. No luck, I guess we will wait for devs to fix this annoying glitch

No bug, just an oversight leaving the option there. No subtitles in English.

I'm DEAF so I basically would want to read subtitles and understand what Leon, Ashley, everybody are saying.. so yes, I'm disappointed that subtitles aren't available even though it's there :(

Before you start the game, you need to choose subtitle on before youre playing in the main menu, because if you start the game the option its unavailable!!! Hope this can help you!!

I am also deaf here, Capcom should have known better, since they had subtitle many of games except this ?!? wtf

Yeah it probably should have been done. Any one person who's played this game could've typed the thing up, likely from memory, in less than a day. Imagine that. I do feel for those who don't have the use of their ears. There may be transcripts posted online, I will say I've seen them written up for other games. Try searching for them. The Steam overlay should make the use of them not completely impractical.

Good. Keep in mind, this game's also only been out for a few hours, now, so, bugs and missing files are going to be all over the place, for at least a day or so. Hopefully they do fix the subtitles option, though.
