"Press X To Die" Minecart
I give up. 22 times down the minecart ride, 22 times prompted to press X to climb the wall. 22 times fallen to my death. This is literally an impossible situation and I'm wasting my time at this point. My X key can't take it anymore. I've played this game on GC and PS2 and never, ever, had any issue whatsoever with this QTE, but here? Nope.

I've run a script for mashing, I've started mashing before the prompt, I've tried to tilt my mouse upwards. All to no avail.

So, as it sits, the game isn't completable for me. I guess stick around and wait to see if someone comes up with a script to just bypass QTE's entirely? I doubt Capcom is going to fix it.

turn the game down to 30fps is one way.the other is to start mashing the button as soon as your flying in the air towards the ledge.as soon as you get throw from the minecart that is.

Another way is to use 2 fingers to tap the same button, one finger at a time. Very fast. Like a piano player

Same issue, 30fps not helping, double tapping makes it worse, i keep falling every single time. Have the old DVD version for PC of it and it works just fine, but this Steam version is getting on my nerve ú_ù (Funny thing is my evaluation of the game until this point was "great, i'm loving it"... now all this optimism jumped through the window)

i've noticed that mashing QTEs don't work for me if i mash too quickly, and that they work perfectly if i deliberately slow myself down. you could try that

Mashing too quick has killed me a couple times. I find that I do better on 30 FPs though, and some of the QTEs just seem like...buggy. Like the Krauser one in particular is just brutal. The mashing event I've failed when I did perfectly like 3 times in a row. the Minecart stands out just because it's the first one that I remember is like 'really' fast in terms of reaction.

I have the SAME issue, with the Salazar Statue too. And when i turn it down to 30 FPS, same issue occurs. I mash the X button like crazy, and it is still murdering me. This being said, health is not the issue, because i have plenty of that. I hold a grenade on the minecart part, and always fall. On Salazar I have to use pistol for the locked door. I am completely boned at this point. Any suggestions? :steambored: :steamsalty:

This game is only meant to run at 30fps or 60fps due to how the engine works. If you run anything in between due to your weak PC, you will get bugs and issues. It needs to be a solid 30 or 60, period. I play it at 60fps solid, and I never had any issues. I also beat it a million times.

I GOT PASSED IT FINALLY. I used an xbox controller and I set my game to 30 fps. Then right after the first QTE, I just hammered the button like super crazy. Thank god man, for anyone who is stuck best of luck.

QTE's are broken in 60fps. Try changing to 30fps or install re4_tweaks, which has many fixes for framerate related issues.
install re4_tweaks

I have to back up the re4_tweaks bandwagon. Ever since I started using it, the game's been a whole lot better of an experience.

turn down resolution (depending on your PC) for that mine cart ride 800x600 if you have to, and turn off AA, Motion Blur, and shadow quality to low. Then just mash x at a reasonably fast pace and you should be fine. Good luck

These two methods helped me, while maybe the graphical settings maybe would haven't changed anything as I was already at a stable 60FPS before and after the change, mashing the button before the action to mash comes up worked when I did it early

Very aggravating that it makes you fall as the prompt comes up even though you mash really fast, it never gives you enough time to initially give you a chance, and that minecart ride is very tedious as well as you have no save point before it for a long while, besides the checkpoint
You can turn off quick time events with "RE4_tweaks" mod.
