HD vs SD
I want to believe it isn't just me, but the SD version of the game looks better to me!

It's just you.

Well i should said, in the screenshots on the store page lol. Even so, I like the ones of the right better than the ones of the left.

OK alright, the TREE looks better in one and the hand grenade looks smoother. Nothing else looks "better" to me

The textures are just upscaled, they have not be redesigned for HD. So yes, it may look worse in some places.

i was thinking this as i saw the official screenshot comparison ... i may be wrong since i haven't actually played any of the versions but for example.. the screenshot about the wood cabin/wall or wathever it is .. looks like if i took the smudge tool in Ps and took all the detail away from the SD version ... rescale it and said .. hey .. i made it HD...

take under consideration this is just my opinion . and as i said .. i haven't played the game .. so i'm not certain .. but this does impact my decision in terms of should i buy it or not?? .. after all .. it's not that cheap .. for a game released almost 10 years ago (i mean the original version since this is not a new version .. it's just a "prettier" version) ... i bought Murdered: Soul Suspect for about 10$ and i'm not sayint this game is better in anyway .. i'm just stating that this is definition of great discount... since this game was released less than a month ago..

i don't know i might have been carried away by the "cheap price" thing .. but i made my point.

TL;DR? - SD looks sharper HD looks smudged or blured out (haven't actually played), sale prize isn't that good i've seen better specialy for a game that was released originaly in 05.

Wrong. Whilethis doesn't apply to every texture in the game, but the HD ones are redone.

Nope ...Upscaling is just stretching an image to the desired value .. replacing the SD Textures with HD textures is different they have to be redone.

i agree but i get why he said upscaled .. since they don't look that different.. it looks poorly optimized in terms of quality. Again i haven't actually played the game i'm just judging this book by it's cover... who knows maybe when i play i do actually see the difference right.. :)

Only some textures were redone in HD, but they were mostly done very poorly and have tonnes of issues.

I suggest playing it using SD settings, and replace the HD settings textures with this texture pack once it is completed...

HD textures have higher resolution, but less detail than the SD textures. It's not a rocket science that SD textures look better even if they aren't very sharp.

it's just you, the lighting in ubisoft port was idiotic . the port itself was idiotic with retarded 30 fps cap and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of memory leaks.

I don't understand why this requires a frickin quad core to play well.. HD remake or not, it's still a game from 2005 and shouldn't need a quad core >.<
