Finding the RE4 Save Files and backing them up
For anybody that wants to back up there save files for resident evil 4 in case of certain dire straights

(Correction: Thank you Darksamus, Steams version of RE4 does not do what ubisoft's ported version does, the first step within you user file in windows, you will see a file that says my games>Capcom>RE4, what is really in there are your personal config files (look below)

Go into your Documents>Find the file "My Games">Click and you will see "Capcom"> RE4.

The actual location is within steams userdata files, in order to have an offline backup of your game follow this direction.

Local disk/Program files (x86)/Steam/userdata/(this file is probably numbered differently, it will be the only one you see after clicking on the userdata file)/254700/Remote.

In the remote file will have your savedata!

This saved my frustration level to skyrocket when i had an issue updating a firmware for my SSD

Actually it is not there, RE4 stores your save file in...
C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/userdata/*********/254700/remote

The reason you didn't lose your save/s is likely because the game uses Steam cloud for saves.
