HD project is not as great as they say

Everywhere on the web it's only praise for RE4 HD project and for a good reason. Unfortunately, the project still has some questionable decisions or straight downgrades compared to the original textures.
Below are a couple of examples.
Notice how HD project version completely misses the wet fleshy tissue look and instead relies on overly detailed, sharp but flat-looking texture.

On this second example, notice how much textures blend together in this mish-mash of details you can't properly distinguish. The textures again lack the wet tissue look the og has.

No. But I'd rather use the original boss texture than the HD project one.

If thats a complaint you have, its a lot more productive to actually point it out to the mod creator instead of venting about it here lol.

I doubt they caught every little detail that may have just slipped when recreating everything else, so if anything there is still patch potential for smaller things.

I'll agree that these particular examples aren't great, but the rest of the project is pretty solid.

People have already pointed that out when they were actively developing the project, but now I think it's done and dusted.
I'm not really venting, just seeing what people think about the fact.

Oh absolutely. That's why I'm going to work on my "fork" of HD project with only the boss textures reverted to the original ones, maybe with some polish here and there.

That can work too, if the original project really is done with updates.

He did go overboard on some of the textures,but it still looks ok,it would be cool for a addon or another modder to do just an upscale of the boss enemies like you mentioned.

The primary reason I use the HD project is for the area that was opened up. Back when Gamecube was the only option, I always wanted to climb over that pile of boards and see what was behind that door. Now I can.

Criticism doesn't equal to hate, the world is not only black and white. I hope you grow up and understand that simple concept.

Your post title doesn't exactly help and comes off as more "troll" than you might have intended.

But yeah, someone can always make the mod better or more accurate if they want to.

Exactly. If you read the post I state my issue and support it with an argument and even the example of the issue. I love HD project, it's amazing BUT the flesh of bosses is my issue with it that I wish they did better.
