Crash at a specific part of the game with Ashley.

Well, approximately 2 or 3 years ago, I was playing Resident Evil 4 here on Steam. However, when I am at a specific part playing with Ashley (Chapter 3-1 if I'm not mistaken), after I resolve everything and climb the stairs, my game simply freezes and closes over time. I have never used mods or anything to modify the game or the save. I only install essential mods for the game to function normally (similar to the GTA franchise games that require mods to be playable on the Steam version).

I genuinely have no idea what to do to get back to playing normally. I abandoned the game because of this, as I didn't want to replay everything. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do? Thank you!

What kinda "essential mods" did you install?
After downloading the game the only mod I recommend install is HD Project, specially if you don't know how to modify this game.

Mods are not required to play any game. You install mods for your self games work right out of the box.

It was a 4GB pack to prevent crashes or other bugs in some part of the game. I've already tested it with and without the pack, and nothing changed. IDK what to do to be able to play again on my save.

Don't install things you don't know.
4GB patch is only useful if you are going to use more than the original executable provides, be it in textures, models or anything else.

Reinstall your game and don't change anything, simple solution.

I understand, Kreed! I tested it with and without the patch. I removed everything I installed in the game, but it still persists. I've reinstalled the game multiple times and verified the integrity dozens of times, but I still can't get it to work.

It's in part 3-4, after I solve Ashley's puzzle and go up the stairs, a cutscene starts, and then it freezes, makes a static noise, and the game crashes and closes.
