Resident Evil 4 (2005)

Resident Evil 4 (2005)

Statistiche:
[HELP] Resident Evil 4 has stopped working / d3dx9_30.dll problem
The game worked perfectly until I decided to format the PC and install Windows 7 64bit. When I reinstalled the game, at startup gave me the error of the missing d3dx9_30.dll, I have (maybe) solved with the program Dll Fixer. From that moment, the game always chrases at startup. This problem happened already in the poor conversion of 2007. Congratulations for the optimization Capcom.

My pc exceeds entirely within the recommended requirements of the game, I installed all updates for the operating system (original), drivers are updated to the latest released and DirectX is updated to version 11.

At the time I wasted 10 bucks, I hope that some user can help me solve this problem so I can finally play one of the best game of gaming history.

P.S.: sorry for the bad english

Install DX9 redist: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109
Also, if Dll Fixer downloaded "d3dx9_30.dll" to "SteamApps\common\Resident Evil 4\Bin32", delete it.
Should work now.

I'm redownloading the game right now, but i have almost tried to install the DX9 redist. Unfortunately the setup fails before completing the installation.

I think this game is cursed. But the problem is in my pc?
The setup fails? Microsoft being Microsoft..
You can try to install via the web installer: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35
After (re-)installing the Windows people should always update their systems to the latest version from Windows Update before even trying to play any games. And install the re-distributable library packages first like the C/C++, DirectX, etc.

The "DLL Fixer" (and similar) solutions are really bad when we are dealing with a large framework like DirectX. They usually only fetch one part of the library and forget about the dependencies which are also required to run the software. These "DLL Fixer" type of applications and websites usually don't even have permission to distribute the software libraries in question. I've also heard of cases of a website sharing libraries that were on purpose infected with malware.

If DirectX library is missing, bells should automatically ring in user's head that required libraries need to be installed. Steam has made things too easy and people have forgotten how to do most basic things like these properly.

I'm not saying that I want to go back to Windows 98 era of having tens of libraries users need to upkeep on their system. But it wouldn't hurt if people knew even a little bit more about how the software they're using works.

I'm guessing that you're perhaps not a native speaker of English. But I wouldn't know that from your writing alone. Your English is actually much better than the English native speakers (especially the people from the USA) write on these forums. At least on average.

You also explain your problem in decent manner. And you use the correct terminology. Not to mention how you actually use paragraphs.

I reinstalled windows and downloaded the game. Unfortunately, even now the game starts. He stops just after installing the directx by steam. I noticed that performs this procedure always though on my pc is the latest version.

In addition, I get a window that tells me the dll xinput1_3 is missing.

But have you installed Service Pack 1 for Windows 7? It doesn't necessarily show up in Windows Update. The missing Xinput API DLL tells the story that you lack something called "platform update" that comes with the Service Pack 1.

Also the Windows Update doesn't offer all the updates at once. You might need to check it many times over if the updates that you want have popped up there. And you might have to reboot your system several time before Windows figures out that there are more updates available at Windows Update.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/install-windows-7-service-pack-1

If you want you could manually install DirectX 11.1 that has the Xinput related files you need. But I highly recommend that yo go through the Windows Update because the latest DirectX depends on several features and libraries in SP1. The lack of XINPUT1_3.DLL is a red exclamation that tells me that you don't have all the updates installed from Windows Update. Steam does not install those files.
