Port "HD Project" mod to consoles
Screw the remake, console players deserve to play Resident Evil 4 in its full glory, and that is having "HD Project" installed in their builds of Resident Evil 4!
Capcom should port the "HD Project" mod to consoles as optional DLC, where users can activate and deactivate it whenever they want. As long as Capcom makes sure "HD Project" runs 60+ fps on consoles ez ez WITHOUT downgrades, everything will be fine, only Nintendo Switch is concerning but whatever...
I find it acceptable that Capcom charges for the "HD Project" DLC, though ideally it should be free to be attractive enough on its own to convince more people to buy more copies of OG Resident Evil 4. I'm just afraid Capcom will prioritize supporting the future DLCs of the remake first... Let's hope Capcom is this visionary.

I love HD project (and i love remake too and waiting for separate ways lol) but i think its not as easy as you wroted from legal side
Remember when some artist filed a lawsuit sugesting that capcom used her work in their games?
They resolved that dispute but still
Bankai9212 9 MAY 2023 a las 5:18 a. m.
given legal loop holes its not gonna happen, despite the amount of ports re4 has at this point.

Like what:clue:

Capcom would need to talk to the HD team while not large they would need their permission to even use the textures to begin with and with the easter egg area they made themselves more so. With the success of remake I doubt capcom would waste time on something like that for series x and ps5.

Capcom does whatever it wants, no permissions needed! All Capcom needs to do is to credit Albert and Cris!

No they can't, with some of the new additions added the HD project is it's own entity like a water mark. For capcom its not worth the time or money to reverse engineer or higher the original team to port it.

They CAN, no matter what you say about it. Just a matter of priority, which is admittectly low.

Hello again! It turns out I reached out to "HD Project" team and Albert eventually replied; while he was definitely insightful and clarifying (thanks a lot), I have terrible news too:
"(...)Capcom will certainly not port this project anywhere, mostly because they had to face around 2 years ago serious copyright claim issues due to the use without permission of lots of textures in this game and other 200X titles.
It happened just before the VR release. They even changed some textures in the VR version because of that!
We found the source of many of those textures (and even more) but the difference is this is a fan mod with no commercial purposes.
So they can't port it unless we get rid of those textures and remade them using other sources that can be used commercially.
But of course, I really doubt they take the risk again. And now with the remake... I seriously doubt they'll do anything else with the original game again.(...)"
This is too bad, the console people will have to be stuck with the remake of Resident Evil 4 and vanilla original version; they, unlike us, will remain Forsaken from Perfection.

Everyone knew this except you, I told you that there was legal related issues around it. Thanks for another pointless thread that already had an answer before you made it.

First off, it's knew, not "new", learn to properly write English. Secondly, your Arrogance is very silly; your "I told you so" mentality does not hold up because you provided misinformation: you claimed Capcom had to "talk to the HD team while not large they would need their permission to even use the textures to begin" which is utter nonsense, it's all about copyright issues that Capcom is just unwilling to deal with because they are too happy with the success of the Remake, even lazy enough to not adapt the textures of the Remake into OG Resident Evil 4. And now you come with this generic argument of "legal issues" to claim you were always right instead of doing basic fact-checking, but you just embarrass yourself.
I forgive you for your Hubris this time, since this issue is not your fault.:AshleyRE4:

Not always right, key wording here "legal loop holes" is what I said you or I are legal experts but that's usually the main reason something doesn't happen if its not about money from what you highlighted "copyright claim issues", "they can't port it unless we get rid of those textures and remade them using other sources that can be used commercially." Is more or less what I was referring to. Do to a ton a legal related issues its not worth it to anyone involved.
