Does it have the original control scheme where you move and turn with the left analog stick or did they update it to be more like RE5 and 6?

No strafing, as far as i remember in any of the control schemes. It's not exactly the same, but it isn't hard to get used to it. You can plug your GC controller via an USB adapter, then use X360CE to emulate Xinput or use Xpadder to directly map the keyboard/mouse buttons, but i don't recommend the second option.

The GC controller is really something, a piece of art, the triggers are so good. But i also enjoy my wireless DualShock 3 and 4. I just like how the analog snaps to certain angles on the GC controller.
This is especially handy in titles such as REremake and Zero when using analog.

Also, nice merzbo))))w avatar.

Coming straight from the Cube version I had very little trouble adapting to PC version using an Xbox 360 controller + Type II config.

if using a gc controller, i would assume the z button acts as the right bumper but what about the left bumper? how about the icons for QTEs are they different?

Since this hasn't been mentioned yet, Mayflash actually makes a USB GCN adapter that works natively on PC as well as Wii U. You can use your Gamecube controler as an Xinput controler without any aditional drivers. Since the Gamecube controler doesn't have a left bumper, a select button, or clickable sticks I have no idea how viable it would be for this port, tho.

Good points, I checked PC controls and the only one that might work with a Gamecube controller is the Type I config since it's the only one that doesn't have the Left bumper assigned to anything. The non clickable sticks isn't an issue since PC version doesn't have any stick clicking actions.

As for the missing select button it's assigned to the Options menu which isn't a big deal (load / retry / exit game etc.) you could just hit the ESC key on the keyboard to access options.

But without being able to assign your own button config I too am concerned how a gamecube controller would work out with this port ..Out of the 3 controller configs baked into PC version none of them match the Gamecube version controls exactly and of course without a left bumper you're restricted to Type I.

Suppose I could load up RE4 on my Cube and see what exactly we're dealing with vs Type I PC.
