Next for the changes i've noticed here:
60 fps seems to screw ammo drop a little bit in this version. Apparently you can stack a lot of sniper ammo if you don't use them. First aid spray system works the same as the PS2 version. You can't collect so many of them like the GC version, and you can only buy 1 per use from the merchant.
Enemy count is the same as the Gamecube version http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198067340548/screenshots/
Except i still can't reproduce the 20+ enemies glitch that you could do in the GC version (first area and the water area where Ashley turn cranks for you). Some guy did it on youtube with this version, but i still can't reproduce it myself.
Who is Sigma, and is the corrections in by default? or are they a mod?
I never heard of the "20+ enemy glitch" but I always thought the max number of enemies for gamecube was around 40?? maybe I was accidentally causing that glitch without even knowing it?? lol
I've compared it to Wii version and It definately is an improvement especially when it comes to flame / torch brightness which appear overly dim on PC version without the fix.

yeah Capcom made a patch including Sigma's fix right after. Their fix was not perfect but still kind of gets the job done. It is there by default now. But Sigma's original one had the correct position for the gloss effect. Its just a very minor detail, almost a nitpick. But it is still worth mentioning it
About the enemies well the higher i heard of was 25 enemies on screen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYqgfhKcHIc
Game engine starts to lag pretty bad on the Gamecube at this point.
I don't know why this is called the Ultimate HD Edition when clearly the models are anything but touched up with mipmapping and specular bumping, unlike in the PS4 version when you can clearly see those effects on the characters.
@Glue- wouldnt the "ultimate" come from the fact steam has mods, but not the ps4 ver?
i just want the re4hd.com to finish their release!!!
I think this was suppose to be the definitive edition, but it has suffered some major problems being ported from the 360 version. The actual team that was responsible for porting this did a superb job from the messy Wii to 360 conversion the other team did. They can't fix everything, and it is true that the PS4 has some nice mapping and better texture work on some enemies/characters. But people can easily fix this with some mods. And there are mods around there to fix those. And even without the mods, they look good if you up the brightness to 40-50 and use the Color Filter 4, which is almost the same as the Wii one. But the default one is not bad either, despite how reddish and colorful it looks.
GC/WII version was using separate filters for certain areas, but despite that, this looks way better IMO. Unless you want to play the original on a proper SDTV with RGB cables.
There is also the gradient fix that is available, so the game looks more to the original. But original doesn't mean always better.
So all in all, i am happy with this version even tho i can't get 60 frames without some slowdowns in certain areas, so 30 frames it is. It is not my PC, but the game is CPU bound. This is just due to the engine itself. I would really like 60 frames, but my old Q6600 overclocked apparently can't keep up with it, even tho it isn't using all the resources.
@Bernymoon- thats great!
Of course he does. He still uses a Q6600.
That's a 2007 CPU by the way.
I don't. I mainly play on my PC. I don't even own any of the last two generation consoles (I did own a PS3 which i plan to buy again just for Demon's Souls and MGS4 / HD Collection.)
But i am a huge fan of the older consoles, the "retro" stuff.
The only console related things i own are my DualShock 3 Black and DualShock 4 White for my PC which i use for wireless gameplay.
When it comes to games, i am very selective about them, but the only game i can't max out at 60 frames is Dark Souls 3, and you can thank the shoddy engine for that.
I am CPU bound, but then again i did overclock it so no bottlenecking will occur.
My PC is not future proof, but the games i usually play are superbly optimised while still looking good.
I can't upgrade my CPU without changing the whole MOBO and RAM, so i might as well buy a new PC altogether. There is no advantage for me to upgrade from a OCed Q6600 to something better because the performance gain would be minimal.
I am just talking about the engine itself. You really need something that is far beyond the recommended specs for this game to get no slowdowns. I get some, and they are minor, but they still bother me. So i would rather max out everything and play at 30 frames than deal with the shoddy engine slowdown just because my fps goes from steady 60 to 50.
As for other Capcom games, i had no problems. And this is by far the best version you can get, unless you own a PS4 and don't care for modding.
Also, when it comes to modding Resident Evil 4, i was one of the few people when the forum actually started. It was a rather small community, an while i didn't actually code anything, i made a bunch of HQ skins for the game. It was a time while i was still learning Photoshop, back in 2007. Sadly most of the files are lost, because i bought a new PC just after that, which i am still using to this day. I just changed my GPU and overclocked my CPU.
After some drama on the forum not actually caused by me, people trying to figure out how to scrammble levels, hook HUD elements and one of the members attempting suicide, i just parted and never looked back. Now the forum has grown so big, it's not only dedicated to RE4 modding (The Ubisoft one), but any RE title. I thought it would just vanish, but i was wrong. And i am glad i was wrong.
Just to add a few things, most of my favourite games were released on PC, mainly the Thief Series (The first two), System Shock and the likes. But i enjoy other things as well.
This port is based on the X360 version, but i think most of the things were fixed.
Thing is, you can easily mod the gamma/brightness/gradient and textures on the PC version, so that's a major plus and it is easily the best version next to the GC/WII on a proper SDTV + RGB cables. So if you are considering it for the PC, get it. If you can push it to 60 FPS, more power to you. Minor animation bugs at 60 frames, but other than that nothing else if i remember correctly.
This was based on the Xbox 360 port, and the Xbox 360 port was based on the Wii port, which was based on the original GC port + content from the PS2 version. Obviously with a lot of fixes.
