FOV / Flawless Widescreen FIXED!

So, as some of you may know, Flawless Widescreen has been incompatible with the current version of RE4 for years. It's unknown if Hayden will ever fix it.

I went ahead and "patched" it. Kinda.

The problem was caused by the "HUD Scaling" feature/fix.

Now, I'm not very experienced with lua.. and since the majority of people seem to only care about the FOV fix, not the HUD fix, I opted to remove the HUD stuff altogether.

I've also changed the maximum additional FOV from 33 to 50.

The fixed version can be downloaded here:

Simply install RE4's FWS plugin as usual, close the program and replace "ResidentEvil4.lua" in this folder:

\FlawlessWidescreen\PluginCache\FWS_Plugins\Modules\ResidentEvil4\Dependencies\Scripts

That's it bois.

The "FlawlessWidescreen" folder refers to where you installed/extracted the program.

I encountered a little "thingy" when dying with the FlawlessWidescreen app active (pic01).
Sometimes the typical “You are Dead” screen is not displaying (pic02).
Along with the option to “continue; yes or no” (pic03)!

If you don’t know what is happening you might think the game is frozen,
but it’s not!

When you die, just wait for the screen to freeze.
Although not displaying, this will indicate that the “continue; yes or no” screen is active.
Than just hit Enter to confirm that you want to continue from last checkpoint.
Or press Right arrow key (or D) (listen for the audio cue) and press Enter to confirm that you want to navigate to the submenu (pic04), which does display itself after confirming!
In this menu you can quit directly to the main menu, or not.

could you tell us how to change the fov from 50 to a higher one for the lua file

FW works great with RE4, but only with fix from official WSGF page, u can really adjust fov scale in FW on +50 and fov will be really wiiiiide. But there is one problem - merchants price broken, they about 999999999 ptas for new gun, so when u need buy something u have alt+tab on FW and disable command "fix enable" in FW main window, then buy desired weapon and then enable "fix enable" again and then alt+tab in game and enter inventory for return game fov to your presets.

Really? I just remove my re4 game files and verify integrity(so it download fresh). Then I use Flawless Widescreen with fixes from pcgamingwiki. It crashes.
