Have heard the PC doesn't have mouse support and Wii is cheaper.

The original ubisoft PC port from 2005 based on the PS2 version was terrible. This is different, it's an official port made by Capcom with perfect mouse support. I love the Wii version but it is NOT as good as this version. Not even close. This is a perfect port.

Haven't played the PC version, but I can say the wii version is by far the best console version of the game. I suggest you try emulating the wii version with keyboard and mouse, it works pretty well.

Have a Wii U so don't need emulator. Is there even a Wii emulator? I know there's a N64 one cuz I had a classmate load up hundreds of ROMs on the class PCs. Only other one i've messed with is EPSXe for PS1

Yep wii emulation (the emulator is called dolphin and also emulates gamecube) is very good right now. I just suggest you try emulating it because it is free and you can decide how you feel about the graphics and whatnot compared to the pc version.

I prefer the PC version. Full controller support + the fan made HD Project makes the game look the best it ever has. I could never get used to the motion controls on pc.

Grabbed it for Wii then it went on sale here for $2 less :( and pretty quickly blew through my graduation monies. Though getting a job soon so alls good. Always the Winter Sale.

I had already played it on my brothers PS2, but bought it in case he ever wants it back.

Does the Resident Evil 1 on steam have better controls than Resident Evil Archives Wii? Because oh my is moving a royal pain in that game from testing the disc.

Also got a whacked up copy of Umbrella Chronicles. RE4 is far better. So is Revelations. Never played any others. Will probably have to order Darkside Chronicles and RE Archives 0 for Wii online given store availability.

I think you did the right thing . I have also played RE 4 Wii Edition & I prefer that version . The up - to - date 60 FPS versions ( PC Steam , PS 4 & XBOX One ) have glitches that affect the game in a way CAPCOM did NOT intend . The sway Leon has is the primary culprit here . There is more . But simple searches can lead to all the info you need .

Wii version has superior aiming and knifing. That was probably the right decision, though you said you're on a Wii U. I never owned one so I have to ask, does the Wii U have motion controls like the Wii? That's what makes it have better aiming and knifing in the first place.

Yea, the Wii U comes with a sensor bar (at least mine did). It's got full backwards compatibility with the Wii. You just have to buy the remote and nunchuck separately from Gamestop or wherever. You can't use the Wii U Gamepad while in Wii mode.
