Bugged save(?)/Upgrades disappearing for no reason

Okay, so I have a problem that is very annoying. Basically, each time I go into the game, like the first time this morning, when I continue my run, I see that I have lost one of my upgrades for no reason. I'ts not random: i'ts ALWAYS a basic upgrade, gather/generator/tow. It was really itching, but I could make another one, so i've said nothing.

See those empty upg slots for the 1/2/3 drones? (Not the 4th one, that one is normal), well here's something funny: they were ALL filled last time! I have LOST 5 upgrades, in a night, and all of my upgrades for my 3rd drone! And that just by launching the game! Now that haveto be fixed. That's just stupid! I had a gat/gen/tow/mot/scan there, which has completely disappeared for no reason!!!

The worse, is, that it won't be fixed easily! Because you could say "Oh maybe i'ts because you played the weekly and then the saves went sexual and here's the result!" and so the weekly could be involved?? Or it is just a save problem?? But it happends every time I launch the game for the first time every day!! Now I don't know what to do. Sure I have a stock gen, and I could craft a gat and a tow, but I've lost a motion and a scan!
Also, at this moment, I'm above a selling machine. Nothing else, I didn't move.

What will happend tomorrow? I will lose 1 more upgrade like generator? Well It should happend, it never misses to happend.

are your save files set to NOT read only?
and if yes, you could edit the save to give that little extra scrap that you use to re-re-re-craft those vanishing upgrades.

I don't know how to change this setting, in fact I don't know where. And even if I know, what do I have to do if I ever wanted to give me scrap ?
But this certaintly could be useful.

So first of all, sorry about that. How long have you been losing an upgrade? You say "always", but I know you've been playing a long while now (since at LEAST release). I can't imaging you wouldn't have said something anything by now (unless I forgot you did) :) Just trying to pin it down to maybe a possible recent update.

We've had another player complain about this same issue (via email) in the last week. I assumed it was maybe just bad data in his run. I'd be curious to know if anyone else loses a drone upgrade (or 5).

You mentioned the weekly challenge - do you play it everyday that you play the regular game? As you suggest, this one might be vicious to reproduce, but if it's as consistent as you say, then hopefully we can work out the steps to trigger it by paying attention to what's common about each day. Do you have a regular habit of playing something like Daily before switching to the regular game? Or is your first action to go straight to the regular game? Just trying to feel out how a normal playing day looks for B00M.

Well, I will precise it. When I said "always", I didn't mean """all the time until when I've first started playing""", but rather """Every time I do launch the game after waking up, it happends""". But when I launch the game multiple times after that, until the end of the day, it work perfectly. So I'm assuming something will happend tomorrow.

What I do usually is the following:
I launch the game, and then start the daily.
Then I move to the weekly, because I prefer not spending time on my main run when I can play another one which is fresh.
If I have already finished the weekly, then I play the normal game.

What happened today:
I hadn't internet, so either daily/weekly weren't accessible. So I went to the normal mode. I go to the [M]odification menu, and see that I have a lot less upgrades than normal equipped.
Then I go to the drone config, and then SCREAMER!!!! I'ts a lot like a horror movie where things get out of place.

I'll tell if this happends again, also by saying what I have done this day.

Today: Launched the game. Played the normal game. Lose nothing.
I then played the daily. Then returned to the normal, and still lose nothing.

Today.
Launched the game, went into the normal game, but have not directly seen the upgrades throught drone's menu. However via Modification menu, it seems fine.
So, I play the daily. Then normal game, and the upgrades are still fine.

Been calmed down lately, I decide to play a bit. Everything's normal.
Until I'm using the stargate. Had a bit of trouble getting it to work, because you have to be on the stargate and press enter, else it will make you "view" the other galaxies. But nontheless went throught one. Then decide to jump to a system.

Then, I look at the drone's menu, to think of my strategy. And that's where I realise I've lost a gather, a tow and a stealth upgrade. While before the stargate, I still had those items, and I've never leaved the game, I conclude this can happend in a normal game, without leaving it and entering it.

Thankfully I have 2 stock tows, and one stealth, I just have to create a gather (Which I have just done before, when I've lose 5 items at once)

Butr i'ts still irritating as hell.

Ok, thanks. Jumping a galaxy is very similar (in the code) as coming in from the Main Menu. So that's good to know.

So to clarify - you went into the Normal game, looked at modification, then left (w/o playing) and went to Daily and then, LATER (w/o exiting Duskers) came back to Normal and started playing?

Yea. That's pretty much it.
I just leaved the game with the [M]ain menu, but everything was done while the game was still running.
To clarify, there is one time when I launched the game, that's where I've started playing, and one time where I've closed it, that's when I've seen some upgrades where missing (and then decided to report it right away).

Ok, cool. I think these updates are helping to give me at least a direction to head in trying to reproduce. I'm beginning to suspect the challenges (either of them, or maybe just daily) are in some way involved. We used to have cross data issues when players played a challenge then normal. Or, perhaps, it was visa-versa. The point is the data was being "confused". Not 100% sure yet that's what's going on...

Hi, so I had a similar problem. After trading some upgrades at autotrade station I saved the game, exited then a few hours later came back in to the game to find that at least 4 modules were missing from my drones. So to "fix" the problem i found where the saved game file was located and looked at it. It seemed like the items were still in the saved game file, but for some reason were just not showing up on the drones in the game. The thing i thought was odd is some of the missing modules in the save file had P=OBJ_##### in their properties. Is that suppose to be P=DRONE_#####? Either way once I changed the missing modules from P=OBJ_#### to P=PLAYER they all showed back up in the module list, as not attached to a drone. I then installed them on the drones and it seems to be working again. Not sure if this is relevent, but worked for me :)

EDIT: I had played the daily, but this happened after that. The first time I entered the game it was fine, the second time was when everything went missing.

Hey. I know i'ts a pretty long time ago, but where exactly did you found the saved game file, and more speficically the P=DRONE or P=OBJ things? I would also like to fix the problem.
In your documents folder yes, but then there's nothing as such.

I've made a guide how to edit the save, the file is the same, but I don't quote those parts (haven't figured out them completetly to feel safe about posting how to edit them).
